You need to quit defending Catholics voting democrat, and the democrat party doing everything in their power to keep bringing in more Catholic voters, by the millions.

All this, because the leaders of the Holy Catholic Church have and continue to fail to teach the truth with clarity and charity.

You're not serious, are you?

This is trash logic. An entire, huge, worldwide denomination is responsible because the culture overcame a few leaders in the west?

It's just sheer ignorance, sensationalism, and THIS PROTESTANT PASTOR knows a ridiculous argument when he sees one.

It's the kind of garbage that divides and conquers, gets people at one another's throats, rather than providing a serious discussion of how to fix what's wrong.

". . . most of the Catholic hierarchy isn’t Catholic. We are in the midst of the Great Apostasy...which began in 1965."

Um, I agree, but I sure hope you don't take that the wrong way and decide it implies I'm attacking someone you know.

xzins:

Well said the logic of the arguments in some of these posts would not allow someone to pass an elementary philosophy exam. So Lets see, the Roe v Wade Decision, which is “far worse” should be blamed on the Protestants. It was a 7-2 decision, with 8 of Justices being PRotestant [all were either Presbyterian, Methodist of Episcopalian] and 1 Catholic [Brennan]. Brennan, the Catholic sided with 6 Protestants to form the 7 majority. But if just half of the Protestants who voted in the majority 7-2 opinion had sided with Rehnquist [Lutheran] and B. White [Episcopalian], the 2 minority opinions in the 7-2 decision, Roe v. Wade would have been the other way around.

Of the course, I no more blame Roe V. Wade on the various Protestant communities than the recent same sex marriage ruling should be blamed on the Catholic Church. 4 out of 6 Catholics voted against it, given the times we live in, not bad, but the other 2 who voted for it should not be blamed on the Church collectively, it is the wrong headiness of 2 individuals.

At this point, I hope the Catholic Bishops no longer allow the Local parish Priest to issue the “license of marriage” at the Church. Clearly state what is going in the Catholic Liturgy is the “Catholic Sacrament of Holy Matrimony”, that is what is going on here. The couple [Man/Woman] could then go down to the their local City Court and have the “state license of marriage issued and signed” in the presence of the local Judge or his or her representative.

Totally separate the Catholic Liturgical Rite from the Secular side all together. How Protestant groups will handle this, I don’t know, I don’t want to speak for any of them.

That is my take on it.

“But Alito, Roberts, Scalia, and Thomas all are Catholic.”

More importantly, they are all Church going Catholics. Are Kennedy and Sotomayor?

Perhaps you are unaware that the author is also Catholic? His observation that we Catholics have been abandoned by many of our leaders who have betrayed their sacred duty to instruct us in the Faith is accurate, and not unique to our times.

Why should the OP attack the Church in this instance?

He posted an article partly titled “Blame the Catholic Church!”

I simply pointed out that 1. one should not blame the Catholic Church for the actions of people whose actions go **against** Church teaching, and 2. that the SC justices are expected to set aside their “faith thinking” when rendering decisions.

Those who ruled that same-sex “marriage” is permitted by the 14th Amendment did indeed act outside their purview, but it had nothing to do with Catholicism at all.

Read that post again.

I’m guessing that you’re saying that to yourself, as you clearly didn’t read it the first time around...where in my post did I even mention Catholics...

you ignored the context of the post, the preponderance of females voting lefty...you didn’t even address it...

Why not...?

You made a slap at conservatives out of thin air, for no reason.

The justices are Christians and Americans, they should have correctly interpreted the constitution.

As far as the people in Italy, at headquarters, they clearly have no problem with American Catholics voting for the left and the democrat party.

It’s the kind of garbage that divides and conquers, gets people at one another’s throats, rather than providing a serious discussion of how to fix what’s wrong.

I guess it escaped your notice that the author was a Catholic, holding the Catholic Church leaders to blame for their dilatory efforts, in the face of an obvious crisis coming...and it was directed towards Catholics...

Had a Protestant written the same type of article condemning Catholics (but of course that would never happen here on FR, would it) you might have a salient point, but, well, you’re simply on the wrong track here...

I’m more interested in the fact that Catholics vote majority democrat and support gay marriage, and immigration, and that the left is importing more of them by the millions.

The left mocks us, as they tell us that they will in time conquer Texas as well, and then we will never win another presidential election again.

It's just sheer ignorance

There's ignorance being displayed here and it's not by the OP, myself nor most of the other Catholics that have posted here.

That trained parrot game of claiming everything is the fault of Catholics who vote democrat is just plain funny. A little more than half of those who self-identify as Catholics vote democrat and using your figure of 23%, that's at best 12% of the total electorate.

What percentage of the total electorate do all those good Protestant black folks who vote democrat make up ?

Who in their right mind believes 12% of the vote total is the real cause for what the other 78% decide ?

No one, except apparently you, believes the other 78% of the votes don't get counted.

Protestantism and Protestant teaching have always dominated this country. That Protestant doctrine has reached the logical endpoint of a the fundamental Protestant tenant of faith that states each individual can correctly interpret Scripture and Truth for their Self and Self Alone is the fault of no one except the Protestant majority themselves.

Even the seventy years of democrat majority rule in this country that led to this mess has far more to do with the South only gradually waking up to the fact that their own "good democrat" was stabbing them in the back than it has to do with anything tied in any way to religion rather than regionalism.

I realize that the anti-Catholic crowd are absolutely desperate to blame someone other than the dominant Protestant majority they champion for the state of this country, but the USSC vote is a good example of the situation.

The four faithful Catholic vote against queers marrying one another and clearly state it destroys the First Amendment and the anti-Catholic crowd screams about the two liberals who claim to be Catholic but who have built their lives and careers on the fundamental Protestant doctrine of Self and Self Alone just like the Protestant majority does.

Play Polly Parrot all you like, but the trash you parrot is just belly laugh funny.

Now, run down to your local non-Catholic church and join the celebration of the great queer marriage victory. Two local Methodist churches are having special services to celebrate, so try a Methodist Church if you can't make it to the Episcopal, Independent, Funny Walks Baptist, Foggy Mountain Bluegrass Church, or other queer loving loony bin.

I’ve never made that claim, so you seem to have made a long post about nonsense.

This is post 34, the kind of thing that would concern a pro-life conservative.

I’m more interested in the fact that Catholics vote majority democrat and support gay marriage, and immigration, and that the left is importing more of them by the millions.

The left mocks us, as they tell us that they will in time conquer Texas as well, and then we will never win another presidential election again.

LOL, never made that claim ?

LOL, sure, it's just a coincidence that every comment goes right back to the same, lame, absurd, trash about the real problem in this country being the 12% of the electorate who claim to be Catholic and who vote democrat. No claim of any connection at all. LOL.

Geez, do just get most of what you post from a copy book and type it in without reading it?

There's plenty to mix in with the parrot posts instead of just slamming Catholics and then saying,
"Who, me? Blame this mess on Catholics"?

At least mix things up a bit. Why not go after the Irish for a change ? Those Irish traditionally vote democrat, throw in something about the bog Irish now and again. Yeah, the country would be fine if we had never let those Irish and Italians in, right? Better keep an eye on all those Hunkies, too.

In fact, you should do a statistical study of Methodists. They were the largest non-Catholic denomination for a long time, throw in a big, fat, "stinkin' Methodists" statistic now and again. Then maybe your stuff will at least be outright comedy club material instead of just parrot squawks.

Strange ramblings.

Educating pro-life conservatives on the importance of how groups vote and it’s connection to the left’s immigration passions and hopes, and plans, seems to deeply offend some non-conservatives.

It really, really angers some who don’t care about conservatism.
