Voting Republican and other failed culture war strategies are not going to save us now.
No, the sky is not falling not yet, anyway but with the Supreme Court ruling constitutionalizing same-sex marriage, the ground under our feet has shifted tectonically.
It is hard to overstate the significance of the Obergefell decision and the seriousness of the challenges it presents to orthodox Christians and other social conservatives. Voting Republican and other failed culture war strategies are not going to save us now.
Discerning the meaning of the present moment requires sobriety, precisely because its radicalism requires of conservatives a realistic sense of how weak our position is in post-Christian America...

He makes some valid points about where we are and how we got here. I’ve seen his mention of the Benedict Option, and that might have some value for creating a counter-culture. However, I am a free man — not because a government has allowed me to be free — but because God has made me free, and I am not changing. I’m not giving up, and I’m not going down without a fight.
I like it.
Comservatism and Christianity are their own rewards.
Thanks for the silliness! And “Amen” on I Kings 18.
Make one style of cake only. One with a cross, or a man and woman on top. If that's the ONLY style of cake you make, the homos will have to go somewhere else if they want a different style. They can't tell you WHAT you MUST sell in your store.
If you sell Harley Davidson motorcycles, the homos can't come to your store and force you to sell them a Honda! Either they buy the Harley, or they go somewhere else!
Exactly, being Christian has always been a difficult life,in America it has been taken for granted,we revere and remember Saints, those who have been martyred for their faith have set the example.
How many Christians have asked themselves if faced with the choice of denouncing their faith or dying what would you do?
Did you ever think in your lifetime you would be faced with that choice in the United States of America?
Think Again
This moment has been coming for a long time, the greatest miracle in human history is at an end,the real tests are about to begin,a founder said, and I don’t know which one but it is appropriate, once freedom or liberty is lost,it is never regained
The secession talk is silly, but in terms of amending the Constitution you also need two thirds of Congress before an amendment is even sent to the states for ratification. You could have a constitutional convention with a vote by 33 of the states but that route has never been taken before.
WE are long past the ballot box.
Yes. Yes we are.
Agreed. At some point secession with happen.
“I dont intend to live as an exile in my own country.”
Nor do I. Hopefully, the worst of this pity party will be over by tomorrow and we can get back to doing what Americans typically do: solve problems.
I won’t deny its been a lousy week for our side, but I’m actually excited. You can’t fix a problem until you acknowledge it exists and the fact is, we as conservatives and Christians are essentially excluded from the electoral politics of this country. In my view that’s sort of like being banned from swimming in the cesspool. Not something I’m going to be too disappointed about. The question is “what now?” And that’s going to exciting.
I was thinking of a convention. We need to bypass Congress.
Read it. Not sure how it applies.
I refuse to give the left what they want.
Despair.
Nah. The left is going to start devouring itself - especially now that the free money is running out. ( The zombie movies are more than prophetic)
In the liberal culture, everyone is some kind of victim. What happens when there are no more political villains to fight? Everyone will have to deem everyone else the villain. Without a villain, the left would have nothing to feed on. So, they'd have to start feeding on each other.
THAT'S when the silent majority gets to eat the popcorn. THAT'S when the silent majority gets it's social justice! (Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord.")
“Bake the cake, or else #LoveWins and you lose your business or end up in jail.”
I don’t take anywhere near that pessimistic an outlook. Heck, I’m almost giddy. Now that the problem is before us AND RECOGNIZED we can take steps to avoid it.
Imagine how different the situation in that case would have been if the bakers prayerfully accepted the order. And then, due to circumstances completely beyond their control, were unable to deliver the cake on the day of the sex toy party. And apologized profusely and provided a full refund.
That’s the thing about happenstance. It happens.
We are called upon to be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Nowhere in that is it implied that we volunteer to act as punching bags.
I agree. What deals with the devil do we make for a tax deduction that most people can’t use on their taxes anyway.
