One of the speakers slated for the Vatican rollout of the long-awaited Papal document on climate change once said the earth is overpopulated by at least 6 billion people.
The teaching document, called an encyclical, is scheduled for release on June 18 at Vatican City. Perhaps with the exception of the 1968 encyclical on contraception, no Vatican document has been greeted with such anticipation.

Yes. When is this “speaker” gonna remove himself? After all, he’s part of the problem.
What a left-wing wacko. (the “professor”)
“Telling the story of a woman he met in a parish in Rome several months ago who had given birth to seven children via cesarean section and was pregnant with an eighth, Francis asked: ‘Does she want to leave the seven orphans?’
” ‘This is to tempt God,’ he said, adding later: ‘That is an irresponsibility.’ Catholics, the pope said, should speak of ‘responsible parenthood.’
” ‘How do we do this?’ Francis asked. ‘With dialogue. Each person with his pastor seeks how to do that responsible parenthood.’
” ‘God gives you methods to be responsible,’ he continued. ‘Some think that excuse the word that in order to be good Catholics we have to be like rabbits. No.’ “
Aren’t Catholics supposed to have a lot of offspring, or was that Muslims?
I just got a chill as I thought that maybe the rapture isnn’t just an instantaneous vanishing, but a prolonged one.
As a 62 year old protestant, I think the Pope would just as soon load me in the first group to go. I will leave it to him to tell how he plans to rid the planet of over 5 billion people.
It is just to create an endless “crises” where the elite get to do anything they want.
Oceana has always been at war with EastAsia.
This activist has no real data, and no real science. He has an agenda and an ideology.
29% of Earth is land mass. Of that 29% humans occupy less than 1% of that area. Of the remaining 28% about 40% is pure wilderness.
I’d say there is about 80 billion too few people!
[[As a Catholic, I dont know what to think.]]
I’m not a catholic, but I’ll tell you what to think- God will destroy this planet and create a new one- man is NOT going to destroy the planet- God will do so- period- the pope should know this- Why the doom and gloom from Him? This planet isn’t even close to beign full capacity (see my previous post)- humans take up just 1% of the 29% land mass- just 1%- that’s it- it is said that every last person on earth could be gathered into the single state of texas all at once- 9 billion sounds like a lot- but it isn’t really- this planet can handle many many more billions- and be just fine-
Man will NOT destroy the world via climate change- infact, man’s contribution of CO2 to the atmosphere amounts to just 0.00137% of the total atmosphere- approximately 2 one thousandth’s of one percent- not even 1 percent- not even close to 1 percent!
IF the pope believes man is responsible for climate change, then he has bought into a colossal lie- there is NO way 0.00137% of our atmosphere can possibly capture and then back radiate enough heat to cause the temperature to rise in even one square foot of air let alone the whole planet- period! And people pushing the lie that man is responsible should be ashamed of themselves- yet it appears everyone is buying into this lie- even the pope apparently-
God has stated that in the end times, He will send a powerful delusion- and I personally believe the powerful delusion will somehow involve the lie of ‘man-caused’ climate change- because this WILL be used as a massive form of control over the world- We’re already seeing the negative effects climate change regulations is having- and it’s going to get much much worse as they blame EVERYTHING on ‘man-caused ‘climate change from here on out- EVERYTHING will be subjected to ‘climate change regulations, fees and fines’ until the world is dead broke, living in poverty, and begging the one world government for relief-
It does Not bode well that the pope has taken up the issue of climate change in favor of the lie that man is responsible for it
thanks for the insight. it is terrifying. i feel betrayed. the one he is listening to says 6 billion humans need to die!! it’s frightening
Somewhere back at the house I have my calculations of how much space each person would have if Texas was flat and shared out equally among the world population.
Actually a lot of room IIRC.
mmmmkay.
“Exactly. The never want to talk about what it would take (assuming anything would do what they claim to want) and who would enforce such drastic measures and how.”
Here’s a small thought experiment. If you assume that we need to reduce emissions to the level of the early 1950s, then we’d have to reduce energy consumption accordingly. No TVs. No A/C. One car per family. Etc.
Now, in the interest of fairness, carry this a step further. Why should we in America be allowed to live like that when so many elsewhere live at much lower levels. Shouldn’t emissions be done on a per person basis across the world. How far would we have to reduce our standard of living to match the rest of the world? 1850?
BTW, there was an article in the Guardian a few years back. An environmentalist laid out a program which would reduce emissions sufficiently to bring them into alignment with what other environmentalist think would be necessary to stabilize world temperature levels.
I don’t remember all the things he said would be necessary but here are a few. No heat would be allowed for privately owned residences. This was necessary to encourage people to move into government approved and designed housing which would be very small. The government would determine who could take a commercial flight. Vacationers would be limited to one flight in their lifetime. Workers would be required to live very close to their workplace. No private automobiles and very limited public transportation. The list went on.
The point of the article was to outline how draconian the necessary steps and shame the politicians into getting serious with the necessary actions.
Personally, I don’t believe in global warming. I don’t think most politicians or environmentalists do either. Otherwise, they would be laying out programs like the one in the Guardian. One can only conclude that they care more about remodeling our civilization than global warming.
Yes, this is exactly what I say to people.
IF you are really serious about this, here is what would need to be done ... but then they ramble on a about solar panels and electric cars.
Bottom line is they don’t one to change their lifestyle on little smidgeon.
The reality?
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
The Good News?
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
The other option is to go back to 19th century technology.
“Bottom line is they dont one to change their lifestyle on little smidgeon.”
I don’t blame them. After all, they’ve been told by most everyone that if we just put up a few solar panels or buy a smaller car, all will be unicorns and rainbows.
I wonder if that message has been tailored to get people to buy into an vague agenda. Once the agenda is in place, will people learn that they’ve agreed to much more draconian measures? An environmental bait and switch?
“The other option is to go back to 19th century technology.”
Which is the equivalent of a reduction in the standard of living. No electricity, no TV, no A/C, no cars, no aviation, mostly sailing ships. Railroads? Maybe. No medicine to speak of. Life expectancy of mid-40s, more or less.
I do know, I watch Bonanza re runs and think life wasn’t so bad. If you combined that with modern medicine it might work.
