"I feel like saying something that may sound controversial or even heretical. But there is someone who knows that despite our differences we are one. It is he who is persecuting us. It is he that is persecuting Christians today; he who is anointing us with the blood of martyrdom, knows that Christians are disciples of Christ. That we are one, that we are brothers! He doesn't care if they are Evangelicals, Orthodox, Lutherans, Catholics or Apostolic. He doesn't care! They are Christians."
We as Christians are going to have to come to terms with the fact that there is an entity that hates anyone who loves God in the Judeo-Christian understanding of Him. That enemy may not be visible, but he is working through a false religion that tortures and kills whoever doesn't follow it. This is not the time for division. This is not the time for disobedience. It's a time for prayer and sacrifice, trust in God and His Mercy, and the realization that we need to find that common ground against our enemies, visible and invisible. Divide and conquer is the evil one's big strategy.
Look at a film that shows the liberation of the camps in Europe. People naked or in rags, starved, shaved and given numbers- no matter what denomination, national origin- just anyone who was not a Nazi. Did differences matter then? Was there a hierarchy in the gas chambers? Fights among denominations before the firing squads? Only the tattooed numbers were left to tell one person from another when those bodies were bulldozed into mass graves. Those who seek to divide are unwitting tools of the devil.
This Pope is one the Holy Spirit placed there, just as He placed the Borgia's and the Medici, and all the others. Only He knows the reason; we must trust the Holy Spirit and know that He is guiding God's family as He always has, like a bridegroom, for better, for worse; the Spirit will guide us, but we must trust and obey- and be careful of the media.
Funny, we should send Francis an invite to one of our forums! He definitely would rethink the idea that we all could agree on anything! 😀
Being as you directed this post to MM, I will go out on a limb here, and say that, to the best of my knowledge, MM would not want a female spouse from the beginning, so these two questions are N/A to her. 😂🇵🇭
Exactly!
I think 1.2 billion is enough. He’s not the one who wants to rule the world.
Elsie meister, TC just asked the question. I don't think we need a bad popes list, though I am sure there were lots of them, but please show TC where many Catholics have said EXACTLY that, going through Mary, I mean, whether it is catechism, or writings from others.
See my post 318
This sounds like the typical “a versus b” forum now. Fact is, the Roman Catholic Church is still just that, pre and post Vatican II. Obedience and trust in the Holy Spirit’s guidance of the Church is imperative now, as it always has been! He is still the Successor of Peter!
I don't read the catholic Bible. I read the only true, holy Bible. You know, the one the Apostle Paul used, the New American Standard Version. If it was good enough for Paul, it is good enough for me. 😂🇵🇭😇
As per usual, well-stated, STA!
Imagine that....and all the protestants on this post seem to agree that works mean nothing....That Rev-20:13 must not have known about sola scriptura.....
Ah ha, TC, I knew if I looked around a little, not even looking a lot, that I would find something else to disagree with you on. I disagree with your interpretation of that verse. Remember, context, context, context. What else can we disagree on?
Ah yes, thank you. 😱 Do you think anyone will accept it?😂

Yep, you can enter, but you can't ever leave. BTW, I don't know if it is true or not, but I heard the song was written about the California Rehab Center (CRC) at Norco, CA. Who knows for sure, but those nerds have a habit of checking in, but not checking out. More likely, however, is simply, that people called CRC the Hotel California.
No, he does not. The ordinary universal magisterium includes all things the Church has taught the Faithful regarding matters of faith and morals. According to you most of the things taught to the Faithful throughout the years were fallible. Outside the Church there is no Salvation is de fide. What Pope Eugene said was an infallible teaching of the Church. I know it’s not too popular during these days of false ecumenism and false unity, but it’s infallible.
And actually everywhere I look this decree has been labeled “ex cathedra” which means it is part of the extraordinary magisterium. Please provide Catholic support that Pope Eugene’s teaching is a fallible statement.
At times.
It can do it at night to make me happy.
We're about 5" short of normal here in central Indiana.
Right now, I'm looking out my north facing window as the sun comes up.
The mist, haze and dew are hanging over about a mile of 4" tall corn like a soft, light-grey fleece blanket.
I'll be letting the ducks out to do their daily patrol of the yard for invading bugs. And hopefully I'll find a raccoon in the trap I've set for the pesky varmit!
Yesterday; I had him in the trap; but he managed to escape.
Thankfully; if they DO get sent there; it won't be for long (according to Mormon teaching)
HEAVEN-The Mormon church teaches there are three levels of heaven (three "degrees of glory"):
SALVATION: A word that Mormons qualify in one of three ways: unconditional or general salvation is simply resurrection from the dead, granted to all through Christ's atonement; conditional or individual salvation involves entering the celestial kingdom through works of Mormonism; full salvation means exaltation to become a God as a result of temple ceremonies and other works. The word 'salvation' can have a two-fold meaning: a) forgiveness of sins and b) universal resurrection:
The Mormons have several different levels of "salvation".
What about Mishael, Azariah and that other guy?
Do we REALLY care what happens to them??

Probably because David UNDERSTOOD about the Age of Accountability.
