"I feel like saying something that may sound controversial or even heretical. But there is someone who knows that despite our differences we are one. It is he who is persecuting us. It is he that is persecuting Christians today; he who is anointing us with the blood of martyrdom, knows that Christians are disciples of Christ. That we are one, that we are brothers! He doesn't care if they are Evangelicals, Orthodox, Lutherans, Catholics or Apostolic. He doesn't care! They are Christians."

They are still doing what Saul was doing, kicking against the pricks. But they will follow strange whisperings ...

Now, we are told in scriptures that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God in the flesh. Well, now for the benefit of the older ones, how are children begotten? I answer just as Jesus Christ was begotten of his father ... Jesus is the only person who had our Heavenly Father as the father of his body." Prophet Joseph F. Smith, Family Home Evening Manual, 1972, pp.125,126
You're just dying for it mean sex when a Mormon says it. oooooo....
1 John 4
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
Heb 11
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
If you could just twist that pretzel a liiiiittttle bit more you'd have those dog gone Mormons right where you want them...
But before we go on, there's that little problem of how the writers of the books in the Bible use the word "begotten" and "begat".
Genesis 5:
4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
Philemon 1
10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
The list of the usage of Begat and Begotten is quite long so I'll narrow it down to four for the sake of brevity.
Please explain how John's usage of "begotten" is different than everyone else's use of the word "begotten".

This is the ONLY way that the anti-Catholic / anti-Mormon bigots have a leg to stand on. You can repeat the truth of your faith to them till you are blue in the face and the cows come home and they will just keep repeating their own false witness.
You couldn't be more right if you tried.

Because that's what the Mormon is saying....
Well, now for the benefit of the older ones, how are children begotten? I answer just as Jesus Christ was begotten of his father ... Prophet Joseph F. Smith, Family Home Evening Manual, 1972, pp.125,126
This is typical of cults to redefine words to not mean what they mean.
Pretty soon you'll be denying Lucifer is Jesus's brother in the Mormon worldview.

This is amazing....catholics and Mormons on the same page. Well, why not. Catholics and Muslims worship the same God based on the CCC.

That statement along with “...lying anti-mormons...” is considered appropriate whilst the following will surely be deleted again...
Instead of using more accurate terms or words like church critic, the word anti- is used as it relates to the mormons as a people, anti-mormon. That it is a personal prejudice. To draw parallels to many anti- [such as anti-semitism] pogroms from the past and unfortunately, in some areas of the world today.
Its an incendiary word that is already loaded with negative connotations that arouses in people a reflexive response that is neither necessary or relevant, almost feral in nature.
To elicit a sympathy response from an outsider who may or may not understand what has actually been said in previous discussions, only reflexive outrage.
Propaganda, attacker, misrepresent, twist, etc. all fall into the same category.
The obstinate and childish nature becomes evident when the poster is confronted. The projection begins, the revision of comments and quotes, the lols, etc. All in an attempt to present himself as above the fray, better than the opposition because hes attempting to claim the moral high ground.

In the opinion of the owner and creator of this site, mormons are fair game. Nope; Mormonism (as well as any other ISMs) is fair game.
The PEOPLE who believe this stuff are not.
This is a site for IDEAS and people themselves are off limits.
Sometimes the IDEAS a person holds makes it LOOK like the person is being attacked.
We NEVER get after Barak the father, husband or son; but the concepts he holds and pushes forward are in our sights.
Perhaps the the owner and creator of this site might want to chime in.

You couldn't be more right if you tried. I may not agree with your religion's theology, but I will be darned if I am going to stand by and watch ANYONE be bullied or abused by a bunch of christian poser wannabes.
I run into fires and toward the sound of gunfire.
If you stick around here long enough you will see that they have several standard Modus operandis. They include posting yesterday's comics that have no bearing on the topic, ping everyone and their brother to pile on and slinging verse out of context.
I hope you enjoy your stay here.

in 55 years I have never been attacked by a single Mormon, on the other hand, in nine and 21/4 years here I have faced daily and sometimes hourly attacks by the bigoted anti-Catholic prots here.
I may not agree with his philosophy or theology but I will gladly defend him against the christian pose wannabes bullies that want to silence him by piling on.

Show me where Jesus used the word *Catholic* anywhere and said that the Catholic religion was how people were saved and came to know Him, IOW, that it was a true religion. The early Christians soon became known as Catholic...by the first century...Christ did not use the word Catholic but He did order his followers.to go forth and teach ALL NATIONS (universal)...The reason that it is the true religion is that He started it, it grew from His mission on Earth and it was the ONLY CHRISTIAN RELIGION for 16 centuries. The wannabees came along and decided that they could change the rules as they saw fit.

TC.....the Jews had nothing to do with the NT????? Last time I checked all the writers of the NT were Jewish save Luke. You kill your credibility when you make such statements. I kill nothing...of course they were all Jews when they started but as they became followers of Christ, they were Christians and it is from them, writing as Christians that we get the New Testament scriptures and teachings...if it were not for them, and the Catholic church which Christ founded, you would have never heard of Jesus Christ....the Jewish religious books certainly wouldn't have brought you up to date!!!

So now after you’re called on yet another inaccurate statement you agree Jews had something to do with the NT. That’s progress. They did become Christian......but not roman catholic as they didn’t rely upon Mary for their salvation.
