21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate you? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against you?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them my enemies.
Psalm 139
American King James Version You Have Searched Me and Know Me 1O lord, you have searched me, and known me.
2You know my sitting down and my rising up, you understand my thought afar off.
3You compass my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
4For there is not a word in my tongue, but, see, O LORD, you know it altogether.
5You have beset me behind and before, and laid your hand on me.
6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain to it.
7Where shall I go from your spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence?
8If I ascend up into heaven, you are there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there.
9If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10Even there shall your hand lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.
11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12Yes, the darkness hides not from you; but the night shines as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to you.
13For you have possessed my reins: you have covered me in my mother's womb.
14I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are your works; and that my soul knows right well.
15My substance was not hid from you, when I was made in secret, and curiously worked in the lowest parts of the earth.
16Your eyes did see my substance, yet being imperfect; and in your book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with you.
19Surely you will slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, you bloody men.
20For they speak against you wickedly, and your enemies take your name in vain.
21Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate you? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against you?
22I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them my enemies.
23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
But the whole world doesn't go to heaven, Why? Because there's a condition.
"that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".
God's holiness outweighs his love.
Divorce is ok if it meets the requirements mentioned in the Bible.
I personally accept ALL Scripture as The True Word Of God.If a husband beats his wife, you can get out. Pat Robertson is pretty sensible on that issue.
I am a sinner saved by Grace...we are saved by Grace through Faith, not of works lest any man should boast. That comforts me.
My big thing is with people claiming to be Christian but supporting abortion/gay marriage etc, and also voting for the Name of God/Christ to be removed from the public square etc,
Teaching children that homosexuality is a option for them, I cant get passed that, to the point were I see a black minister on tv. I cant take him seriously until I can search him out to see were he stands on Christian social issues.
If I find out that he supports Obama or the Democrat party, I want nothing to do with him, same deal for liberal Catholics/protestants
Some discussion of use of "Jesus Christ vs. Christ Jesus" here.
Although I believe the site linked does a good job of explaining how the different uses of Jesus Christ vs. Christ Jesus, as a disclaimer, I cannot attest to the veracity of the site's entire content. As I have not examined all of their positions.
But the Bible shows us that Paul used both "Jesus Christ" and "Christ Jesus" in his epistles and sometimes in the same sentence.
I know it was not your intent to call Paul an 'effete snob.'

Kind of like the old saying “hate the sin, love the sinner.”
An honest reply.
I have found that when wronged by another, I look to all the times I failed God and others. For quite some time I convinced myself I did not fail or offend others. The first step in humility is to realize we are ‘broken’ too, and to deal with others in the same manner.
The gift of God’s Grace allows us to be at peace with God, fellow man, and with ourselves. All an act of God’s Grace.
“Hmmm. sounds like something a muslim might say”
hmmm, that sounds like what a defeatist Christian would say. How were you able to post when your head is buried in the ground?
From Romans 12....
20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[e]
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
I have a gay cousin, I love him, so I think you misunderstand as I knew people would.
But as I said I was separating NON BELIEVERS from Liberals that claim to be Christian yet celebrate abortion rights and homosexuality.
People like Jim Wallace of the sojourners magazine, the liberal Black Church, the Liberal “Christian Church”
Yes I want nothing to do with the Liberal Church, I weep for the non believers.
You border on judging me actually in your last comment. I clearly separated non believers from believers
First of all, where do you get that Mary and Joseph and Company “praised God when Herod died”? I don’t see them praising that fact anywhere (cf Matt 2:13-23).
Secondly, let’s be clear here: Psa 138 (139) is a Psalm of David. So it’s David who is saying he “hates them [his enemies] with perfect hatred” not God. God does hate sin but not the sinner.
We are indeed exhorted to love our enemies but this doesn’t mean to bow down to them in submission at all times. Sometimes love is saying “no”. We aren’t to hate people but we are to hate their sin.
Scripture is quite clear in all of these points. Let’s not think that loving enemies means being nicey nice to them all the time. But let’s also not think that Scripture somehow gives us permission to *hate* them sometimes. No, we are to love them all the time. Sometimes this means saying no, sometimes it means enduring their persecution. Vengeance is God’s to mete out as He chooses.
Also don’t fall into the common mentality trap that equates love with “liking someone a lot”. It’s not.
Love (as talked about in Scripture) isn’t an emotion it’s an action (or inaction). The point is just because you love someone that doesn’t mean you have to like them, at all.
Yes, we have reached a point where people use the term Christian quite loosely. A good indicator of a fake Christian is when they say "I consider myself a Christian", rather than "I am a Christian". This usually means they have redefined the word "Christian" to mean what they want it to mean.
The Return to Nazareth
(Isaiah 61:1-11; Matthew 13:53-58; Mark 6:1-6; Luke 2:39-40; Luke 4:16-30)
19But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child’s life. 21And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
You dont think that they took the following as good news? Thats what I was taught in Sunday school, and it`s how it reads to me and always has
But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child’s life
You dont thing they praised God for the good news, that the evil man that wanted to kill their child was now dead.
Was it not good news, they were hiding out, of course it was good news, I believe they praised God. Not logical that they would take the news lightly, certainly they gave thanks to God.
They did not know at that time that his replacement was even worse
I judged what you said, not you. I don’t even know you.
“Christian yet celebrate abortion rights and homosexuality.”
Neither of which have anything to do with accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Christians can be wrong about a lot of things. It doesn’t negate the Cross.
Don’t mistake me please I don’t say it is unreasonable to believe they thanked God for the good news that Herod wouldn’t be able to kill their Son anymore. But there’s a whole world of difference between that and praising his death.
Unquestionably they thanked God that it was His Will that Herod could no longer kill Jesus. But they didn’t rejoice in his death, they rejoiced in the fact their little Son wasn’t in danger anymore.
There’s a difference there. We aren’t to be gleeful about someone dying no matter how much of an enemy they were. We can certainly thank God that He chose to not allow them to persecute us anymore but not that an individual died.
It’s the same thanks as if for whatever reason the enemy ceased his persecution either from death or any other reason. It’s not celebrating the death it’s celebrating the fact the persecution is over.
The latter (celebrating the end of persecution)is wholly acceptable the former is evil.
Funny that you should also take issue with this...I see a red flag.
First you take issue with me saying Joseph and Mary gave thanks when Herod Died, now you are taking issue over my belief that “Christians``that support abortion homosexuality etc are IMO not Christian. They are also voting for the removal of Christ from the classroom public square
We are talking semantics in how exactly they praised thanked God.
forgive me but your desire to make a issue over this comes across to me as kind of petty and a bit self righteous.
Sorry just how its coming across on my end.
And your latest issue with me is my challenging the claim of people that say they are Christian even though they celebrate abortion and Homosexuality and the removal of God Christ from classroom public square
Yes I challenge that their conversion was not real, it#s what I believe
Funny that you should also take issue with this...I see a red flag.
First you take issue with me saying Joseph and Mary gave thanks when Herod Died, now you are taking issue over my belief that “Christians``that support abortion homosexuality etc are IMO not Christian. They are also voting for the removal of Christ from the classroom public square
“First you take issue with me saying Joseph and Mary gave thanks when Herod Died, “
You have me confused with someone else.
“They are also voting for the removal of Christ from the classroom public square”
Being wrong does not negate Salvation. For instance, Martin Luther was an Anti-Semite. You don’t want to be in a position to say “Even Jesus can’t Save a homosexual”. That’s blasphemy. We ALL sin and fall short. There is none righteous, not one.
My apologies I got you both mixed up, thinking you were one in the same.
In my defense I just got back from dental surgery
Sorry.
Hey I knew there would be blowback for my opinions...I had thought that I kind of posted this as a question, to see what others thought.
Was actually pleasantly surprised that there so far was very little blowback, with exception of you 2 guys.
