I really enjoyed this interview. I realize it's a few years old but it's new to me. A great story and a wonderful testimonial.

I'll occasionally listen to a few songs on my iPad before I go to sleep. I'll click from one YouTube video to another. I clicked to listen to "Crystal Blue Persuasion." I then found this related video, "Tommy James: Behind the Crystal Blue Persuasion" I didn't know what was behind the song so I checked it out.

Honestly, I didn't know much about Tommy James and the Schondells. I was very familiar with a lot of their songs, however. They've had a lot of great songs.

I just found this to be a great interview and wonderful testimony. Amazing how God works.

“Crystal Blue Persuasion” was one of the great songs I enjoyed in the ‘60s growing up. Thanks for the memories.

“Draggin’ the Line” has always been one of my favorite songs.

Ahhhh....music when you could understand the words (even if you didn’t understand their meaning together). This song came out the year I graduated from high school. Thanks for posting.

I watched a little (what little I could tolerate) of that Liberace movie, “Behind the Candelabra” so I know that’s not true.

I am not really sure what a Schondell is.

Nope. It was actually later that I read it was used on Breaking Bad. I am old enough to already know it’s a great song.

I’ve heard others talk about Breaking Bad being a very entertaining show. I really just don’t watch much TV. I’ve never even seen an episode.

Thanks for the links. According to the interview, Mr. James always wanted to be a musician, met Elvis, got a guitar in Niles, Michigan, and then had rough times in 1966: drugs, writing, hotel room and a Bible in a dresser drawer. God lead him to Ezekiel and Mr. James felt His presence. Then his life slowly improved. Give thanks to the Lord who never abandons us.

Here’s the scene where they used the it in the soundtrack (Walter White’s trademark was blue crystal meth).

They have a thing called the Internet now.

My dog Sam eats purple flowers...

I really liked the song as well.

I am ashamed of myself because I didn’t listen to the interview. But 30 minutes is a pretty long time.
