My dear husband fell, fracturing his femur and tearing a rotator cuff in his shoulder. He does not have osteoporosis; it was just a freaky accident.
He is a big man -- not fat, just big -- and he landed on his hip and his elbow on a neighbor's blacktop driveway. As is so typical of him, he was there to help the neighbor with a task.
He is in very good health -- but not too graceful -- so I am confident that he will heal, but, right now he is in a great deal of pain in the leg and from swelling in the arm. He was able to use the arm right after the fall, but now he cannot.
Also, he is feeling quite glum about the fact that he will not be in full working order for several weeks. We are retired, so, fortunately, he is not missing paid work, but he is always very busy around the house and in our rather large yard. It is bothering him for me to need to take up the slack. Besides, sitting for too long gives him the heebie-jeebies.
I ask for FR Prayer Warriors to pray for relief from his pain and for his spirits to be lifted.
Prayers up big redd
But you and he will have to learn patience
The torn rotator cuff may take surgery and then a year to heal, spouse now in recovery from accident last summer
Perhaps a hobby or occupation he can pursue during his recovery? Making phone calls to help our your church or another cause? Adopting an older pet and saving it from death? Crafting or artwork? Start a website?
Good luck!!
I am praying for your husband’s speedy and complete recovery. And giving thanks he has such a caring and wonderful wife.
I am praying for the speedy recovery of your husband. May the Good Lord bless you and your good family.
Prayers up and thanks for asking. I have a big (not fat) hubby too. He took a fall in the garage a few years ago and only broke his forearm. It was tough on him too. I will pray for you both. Around here Lent is a good time to suffer and offer it up to the one who suffered the most for us. God bless!
Look at the bright side, he will be back in shape for springtime.
Prayers for your Husband, Bigg Red.
Prayers up.
Also seconding the patience with a rotator cuff. Mine happened nearly 15 years ago and it still causes problems.
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.
My spouse is patiently healing, it is Red’s spouse who is just starting his journey! But thanks!
Oh Big Red, so sorry to hear of this accident! Your job is to keep this big guy down and working towards recovery. He will not get well over the weekend. This will take weeks and more weeks of Physical Therapy. Prayers up and ALL the best!!!
Father in heaven, only you know the beginning and the end. You are the eternal God of the universe. You care for us and you know the purpose behind every thing that we experience. There is nothing that escapes your knowledge. There is nothing that is without purpose - and you promise that there is good to every event in the lives of those of us who love you and are called to your purposes.
We pray for this man after his injury. We ask you for a rapid relief from the pain and full recovery. I pray that he will not be depressed from the time of inactivity but will be nurtured by you and will thrive on your word and in his prayers. I ask you to show him the purpose for this and that his faith will be multiplied as he grows more dependent on you and your loving care for him.
We depend you because we are weak. You have all that we need and you are the merciful God. We pray in the name of your Son - who is the gift of life that you sent to us because of your great love for us. We desire Him. We seek Him. He is our salvation. One day our bodies will be perfect, our minds will be holy and our salvation will be complete.
Thank you, Father. We pray these things in the name of Jesus. Amen
Adding my prayers for patience and healing.

Prayers offered. Tell him shoulder surgery and repairs take complete rehab. The better the rehab, the better the recovery of usage. That will be plenty to do.
