Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. Catholics, what will you be giving up for Lent, or what will you be doing for Lent?
I’ll be spending much less time online - hence, I am posting this now! I am also going to try to follow the Melkite Horologian for daily prayer. I need to find a charitable activity of some kind. My work schedule is pretty busy, but I really want to find something in my area where I can help out. There is a soup kitchen a half hour away. I might try that.
Cigs, and alcohol. Woe is me.
Less time online, more time praying/studying scripture. That’s the goal anyway.
Catholic Caucus
I’m not drinking any more. Of course I’m probably not gonna drink any less either.
“Why give up anything?”
Because Jesus did.
Can one give up 0bama as their POTUS?
I’m giving up drinking beer.....from cans.
Going to give up internet use outside of necessity (so, bye all until after Easter), read the bible from cover to cover again, pray more, eat less, and study the live’s and writing’s of some of the Eastern Catholic saints. Probably hold myself to a stricter than usual exercise regime as well.
This thread is labeled ‘Catholic Caucus’ meaning if you are not currently, actively Catholic then do not post on this thread.
Giving up Free Republic.
It really does not help me personally to be well-informed, and I can use the extra time to pray.
Pretty sure the same types of articles will still be there when I come back after Easter.
Okay, no problem. I’ll be more careful in the future.
“Can one give up 0bama as their POTUS?”
If only!
