The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary CUF
Issue: What does the Church teach concerning the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary?
Response: The teaching is aptly summarized in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 974:
The Most Blessed Virgin Mary, when the course of her earthly life was completed, was taken up [assumed] body and soul into the glory of heaven, where she already shares in the glory of her Sons Resurrection, anticipating the resurrection of all members of His Body.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Y’all should believe in “that born again stuff.”. It is in the Bible. Don’t y’all read it? I am beginning to think none of you read it. Some of the things I have read on here by y’all is unbelievable. Start reading it more and stop being told by man what it says and what to believe. Men make mistakes.
We all know that but we've been here before with these people. I thought I would try to cover all bases as they say.
30 Many other signs also did Jesus in the sight of his disciples, which are not written in this book. 31 But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: and that believing, you may have life in his name. Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA) Public Doman
I don't think that one is included on the list - Rome's 50 Approved Scriptures For Minions. As best as I can tell from these threads, most of the OT and all of Paul's writing is also verboten to the RC masses.
On a more serious note, I think verse 30 is just as important as 31. God inspired the writers to ONLY record specific miracles, events, teaching, and the Word of God (Jesus only spoke what the Father said - John 12:49-50). We can be assured everything needful to our Salvation is included in the Gospels. Once you BELIEVE, turn to Romans through Thessalonians to see who you are IN CHRIST.
Son; you've just dissed all of those Learned Catholics that were QUOTED in #275.
And Christ?
Well; I'll leave what you've done TO Him UP to Him.
Good idea!
Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.
Why?

I remember seeing that claim. I couldn't believe what I was reading. It always starts with a small error, and then snowballs out of control. Through the reasoning of men, the handmaid of the Lord was transformed into the immaculately conceived, perpetual virgin flying into Heaven on Pegasus, ready to appear to superstitious children (and even on toast), and provide divine customer service 24/7/365 for the masses. So let it be imagined, so let it be true.
Heed the words of Paul - you are COMPLETE IN CHRIST.
Colossians 2:6-10 (KJV) - 6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Agree. It’s a life or death matter. Catholics have chosen life.
John 6:53 “Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. (Douay-Rheims Bible)
Oh, but you DO need to understand being born again, and John, Peter and Paul thought so too....
John 3:3 - Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
1 Peter 1:23 - Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Romans 6:4 - Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Be sure to write!
Catholics have no need for “born again” in the sense understood by Bible-Christians. We have the “Holy Eucharist”
Here’s St. Thomas Aquinas, considered by many the greatest theologian who ever lived on the Holy Eucharist after whom colleges and universities have been established in many parts of the world.

WOW, so you are saying that Catholics do not believe that John was correct when he said, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God", and that Peter, had it all wrong when he said, "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever"? Do you think these two disciples of Jesus perhaps did not understand the gospel, or what?
Instead of accepting the savior's gift of salvation once and for all and being "born again" and living day-by-day with the blessed assurance of heaven, you Catholics must continually take Holy Communion over and over and over again, what.... weekly, daily,(how often do you have to do it to be assured of your salvation?) because salvation depends on this ceremony? That is what I am hearing you say when you say you don't need to be born again, because you have the Eucharist.
We Protestant Christians celebrate Holy Communion as well. But we do it in remembrance of of Him (Christ Jesus) in simple and joyful fellowship with each other and Him, just as He taught in the scripture.
