The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not mans standard.
Do catholics study the Word on their own or just get everything from the priest?
Reveltion 2:6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
Sure we have.
I haven't seen one non-Catholic not explain why they became *Protestants*.
The problem isn't in the former Catholics doing the telling. The problem is in current practicing Catholics being able to grasp what is being told them. They simply do not believe what the former Catholics have told them and say as much, with the usual accusation being that their conversion has to do with immorality.
IOW, Catholics simply choose not to believe former Catholics.
I can believe that you really think that way because if you were a Catholic, you would enjoy the gift of the Holy Eucharist wherein Christ gave us His Body and blood, under the appearance of bread and wine...But you probably don't believe that.....sad.
I had it happen tome plenty of times until I figured out that it must have been the Greek that had been posted in HTML.
So I either format the entire thing, or just (if possible) eliminate the Greek word.
Kind of goes for other languages and odd characters as well.
When I hear prayers to Mary and saints, I know what I hear. I may have trouble with my vision but my hearing is excellent. Even the experts say so.
“Ah yes!!! Old Merriam-Webster! Now there is someone we can rely on to be consistent throughout the ages.”
If you can show that the dictionary is wrong, feel free to do so.

Your statement that I haven’t read your post is not truthful, just your opinion.
Just like your opinions on Catholic teachings. They are just your opinions.
I will excerpt a summary from a book by a former atheist and Protestant Devin Rose: The Protestants Dilemma
Because Catholicism is true,
Christians can know divine revelation, as distinct from mere human opinion, because God protects it from authoritatively teaching anything that is false.
How is the Catholics judgment different from a Protestant’s, if at all? The difference lies in the conclusion, or finishing point, of the inquiry they make. Whereas the Protestant can ultimately submit only to his own judgment, which he knows to be fallible, the Catholic can confidently render total assent to the proclamations of the visible Church that Christ established and guides, submitting his judgments to its judgments as to Christ’s.
And so a Catholic can know divine revelation, as distinct from human opinion, by looking to the Church, which speaks with Christs voice and cannot lie. For a Protestant, only the Bible itself contains Gods infallibly inspired words, so he desires to assent to that. But since the Bible must be interpreted by someone, the closest he can come to assenting to biblical teaching is assenting to his own fallible interpretation of it. And assenting to yourself is no assent at all.
The Protestants Dilemma
If Protestantism is true, all are fallible. So the Protestant must rely on his own judgment above that of his church. And the orthodoxy of the church itself is judged against his interpretation of the Bible. Thus is becomes impossible to distinguish between what divine revelation actually is versus what a fallible human being thinks it is. This fact makes the Catholic Church, philosophically speaking, preferable to Protestantism, since Gods truth can be knownand known with certainty.
Oh really, Christ founded His church, promised that He would be with her until the end of time and then allowed her to fall into apostasy for 1,600 years until protestants came along to save the day.......O.K. I guess.Your condemnation kind of goes against the admonition against doing so unless you are willing to be judged by the same standards.....
going off on your own, deciding on your own what the Biblical truth is, making excuses for your own denials of what the real truth is, inventing your own reality doesn't seem real biblical to me...

1Jn 2:27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and He lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what He teaches is trueit is not a lie. So just as He has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.
I have avoided learning the how to.
Again, thanks for the information.
This isn’t about being a protestant or catholic...it’s about catholic teaching that is misleading people and endangering them by their practices and behavior before idols and various other images.
no it doesn't
no it doesn't
It's apparent you're not interested in discussion....just arguing for arguing sakes.
Have a good evening.
I hope you find the Truth.
we are all Christians for the same reason, the question asked why are you a protestant???
editor;
Perhaps you are doing the work of the devil.
See my post 1591 in which explains the difference between Catholic teachings and the opinions of non Catholics.
More proof that Catholics DO NOT READ THE BIBLE.
Expressing your fallible opinion.
Sorry if the truth hurts.
