The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not mans standard.

Thank you for your kind and courteous reply! I'm composing a response, it's just taking me awhile: in the meantime, I just wanted to let you know I read your post and appreciated the Christian attitude with which you expressed yourself!
God bless you!

Drink plenty of fluids and get your button handy.
An elderly lady in our church merely slipped in the bathroom and fell wedged between sink and tub: couldn't move.
She was found a couple of days later.
Wasn't dead, but was badly injured from being in that position for so long.
She did die within a week. Stay safe; I think you still have some work to do here!

We do know the English language and use it as such.
We haven't redefined it is and Catholics can't grapple with it so they end up......

I don't, I was just pointing out that Mary could certainly have been protected from sin as was the FULLY HUMAN, CHRIST. So do you really think that Jesus was protected from committing sin????

Mary kept Him in her womb and followed Him to the Cross. That IS hearing and keeping, both in physical and spiritual sense; hence the correction in Christs words. Jesus needed to be corrected????
By whom?
The CATHOLIC CHURCH?????
Really?!?!?!
Just when you think you've heard it all from Catholics, you find out in ways that you never dreamed, that you haven't.

Thank you kind sir. Falling in a hotel bathroom caused my eye problem. When I was getting out of the tub, I fell and ended up between the counter and commode. I hit my head hard enough that it knocked me out for a few seconds. My surgeon said that is when I tore 2 eye muscles in my right eye. I was seeing double for over a year. Not any fun! I am getting better with the good Lord’s help. Just impatient to start living again! God bless. I really thought my head was harder than that!

that's great! that makes you 1 of the 30,000 protestant denominations who TRY to interpret scripture to fit your own needs. Down the block from you, maybe three or four houses, is another group of the ekklesia...but they have come up with a slightly different view from yours......and further down the block, there is another.....oh well, you get it. Yeah? So what?
Catholicism isn't even intrinsically consistent.
And besides, if it's a disputable matter (Romans 14), it doesn't matter.

Well since you are no one else answered the question Ill do it. Catholics want Jesus to be submissive to Mary! Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords and submissive to no man or woman. He was, is, and will always be perfect, she was a sinner and Scripture proves it.
Isaiah 64:6 New International Version (NIV)
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
Romans 3:23 New International Version (NIV)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
To: terycarl
Well, I’m glad you can see the deception that other Catholics have fallen into by not taking the Word of God seriously.
It shows there’s hope for you.

That was a Jewish ritual, not an evidence of any sin.

It’s a love confession, perhaps, but worship I don’t see here.

These are everyday usages. The theological difference in the context of the religious service is that worship is of one God and veneration is attachment to some historical figures combined with the belief that they are with Christ in Heaven.

committing everything about themselves entirely to Mary. This leaves no room for Christ whatsoever. This prayer only demonstrates that the Catholic faithful is not confused between human nature of Mary, whom he loves and divine properties of Christ Whom he worships. He also probably is not thinking of himself as a heap of meat and bones that cannot be committed to two people entirely at the same time.
Come to Christ today
I am with Christ today. And with Mary. I am Catholic.

Praise is in the preceding verse, "Blessed is the womb that bore thee, and the paps that gave thee suck", and Jesus repeats it ("blessed") directing it to more people. And you still haven't given us the source for your corruption of Scripture.

Romans 3:23=all have sinned No, that is a primitive and mindless reading of the psalm quote. To take this psalm literally -- or think that st. Paul quoted it thinking of it as a literal definition of everyone would mean that not only Mary sinned (the Bible does not record any such), but she also does not seek God and is quick to murder. So is your pastor: God-hater and murderer. Enjoy your fantastical theology; I'll stick with both the Holy Scripture and my Church explaining it.

This prayer is said with the correct understanding that Mary will lead me to Jesus, so there is nothing to be disturbed about.

Well, I agree with you, but he (Moses) did appear at Transfiguration.
Now I haven't the slightest idea what that means, but...
It's a mystery to me too. Best idea that comes to my mind is that Eternity and time met on that mountaintop that day. Jesus appeared to the three disciples similar to how He appeared to John who recorded (wrote) the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
Perhaps some comparison of notes took place? Some information was passed to Jesus or the other way around?
Definitely a Heavenly vision by the three disciples who had no idea what to do next. (Wanna build a temple or place a plaque or do something else here?, asked the dazed and fazed Peter.)
Oh, and the Father was present too; His voice was heard setting Peter straight.

Why did you change the subject?

I don’t follow. “Born of the Virgin Mary” does not mean she bore Him and we are saved by Him?

Why shouldn't Mary be at the summit with he son Jesus? Because GOD didn't put Mary there. The Catholic church did.
God will share His glory with none other.
