I spent the next summer evangelizing Catholics in Poland.

Like many other well intentioned Evangelicals, he must not have been well versed in Romans 15:20-21

Thus I aspire to proclaim the gospel not where Christ has already been named, so that I do not build on another's foundation, but as it is written: "Those who have never been told of him shall see, and those who have never heard of him shall understand."

Evangelical to Catholic - Blog

Ping!

I cut out the middle man and went at age 42 straight from agnostic to Catholic. What an incredible difference it has made in my life.

Vivat Jesus!

Ironic.

All your posts are exactly the same thing.

Instead of "preaching" to non Christians, you post threads to tell evangelicals how they need to be catholics.

Why not preach to pagans?

This is I don't quite get with Protestant Missionaries in Latin America and in Russia. I even know evangelicals working in Italy and Spain! Of course, the local Catholics are doing a horrible job. Then there are the Catholic missionaries working in Orthodox Russia, too. What a muddle, especially with the Religion of Peace massacring our Christian brothers and sisters in Syria, Pakistan, Turkey, Africa, etc.

The jihadis don't care whether you are a Southern Baptist or Greek Orthodox. You're a Christian, ripe for crucifixion or beheading.

Speaking of everybody's problem, The Virgin Mary: there are even Muslim cults that honor Her, as did Martin Luther. What? He's not Protestant enough for you? Mariolatry? Get over it.

Sola Scriptura? Well, the Catholics know just as much as the Protestants about stretching a text to the breaking point. And if anyone can interpret scripture for himself, why have any church at all?

Northern European Christianity is a Father religion. Mediterranean Christianity is a Mother religion. So what? Frankly, this kid's "conversion" makes me itch. I just know he'll finally wind up as a Unity Church pastor.

But I'll settle for small gains. The Romans, The Anglicans, The Orthodoxes, and The Lutherans ought to get together and then deal gently with the "sola scriptura" people.

“Like many other well intentioned Evangelicals, he must not have been well versed in Romans 15:20-21 “

Like so many other well catechized Catholics, you must not know this verse isn’t a command. It states Paul’s personal desire...

Everyone needs to know Christ by entrusting themselves to Him for salvation - regardless of whether they attend a church or not. They ALL need His Gospel of Grace.

But when I attempted to do my homework, I collapsed on my bed. All I wanted to do was scream at the textbook, “Who says?!”

But I saw the crucifix differently this time and began crying. “Jesus, my suffering savior, you’re here.”

So there you have it...The guy admittedly never found Jesus as an evangelical...I'd say he wasn't really looking for God...He was looking for religion...

He admits he didn't believe the bible...

Other questions that I had buried began to reappear, no longer docile but ferocious, demanding an answer. Where did the Bible come from? Why didn’t the Bible claim to be “sufficient”? The Protestant answers that had held me over in the last year were no longer satisfying.

1Jn_5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Says right there the bible is sufficient for all required knowledge about salvation...How could someone studying the bible miss that???

Easy to conclude that this story is fake, or, he was never a Christian to begin with having no spiritual guidance or understanding...Not even worth writing about...

I have not so much left my former faith as I have filled in the gaps.

And it's these 'gaps' that EVERY cult exploits!
