I have been trying to find the verse(s) that Obama quoted in his speech: OBAMA: Or are we a nation that finds a way to welcome her in? Scripture tells us, we shall not oppress a stranger, for we know the heart of a stranger. We were strangers once, too.
What book and verse does this say it?
Thank you Arlis...and to all who have replied.
Expected him to say exactly whet he sais.....he’s exactly what I saw him to be in 2007.......
Which source? The Satanic Verses or it’s junior edition, the Quran?
Anyone else notice that obama always quotes the old testament and never the new testament? I find that quite telling and am surprised no one else ever notices/draws anything from it.
Zero the muzzie citing the Bible is blasphemy.
He did not pull out anything.
This came from one of his speechwriters. I would make the assumption that he has a black speechwriter who is in their late twenties or early thirties.
The speech sounded more like a sermon or rally speech from a black preacher than it did President. And while the youngster would not know the scripture- he is savvy enough to know that all great black speakers throw in a little scripture to make them sound holy.
It just helps to understand context.
The passage referenced alludes to strangers who appear, introduce themselves, and pledge to be productive members of society. It does not refer to hobos walking down the tracks into your backyard because you have pies on the window.
Yes it is.
I’ve never noticed that! That is very interesting....NT has too much about Jesus for O to handle.
Israel was invited into Egypt. They were not illegal invaders.
Genesis 45:17-19 (KJV)
17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan;
18 And take your father and your households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.
19 Now thou art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.
Believers are called to obey the laws. Sneaking across the borders by the thousands at night, should not be rewarded.
Romans 13:1-8 (KJV)
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Believers care about people. I love immigrants. I know several who have sacrificed dearly to become naturalized citizens - some have spent thousands and are still waiting. And yet Obama and his ilk have openly encouraged illegal immigration, and now wants to reward them for breaking the law? Give me a break. How many millions more will now flock to the border for the golden ticket?
Every “crisis” we face domestically is directly or indirectly related to controlling our borders and the influx of illegals - health care (visit any public hospital ER or maternity ward), schools (overcrowding, language challenges, quality of education for all students), crime (no shortage of examples here), car insurance (I have had 3 wrecks while living in Dallas and 2 were uninsured illegals - what are the odds?), unemployment (who is taking all the inner city entry level jobs these days?), wages (let’s not kid ourselves, all these new illegals will work for a lot less, and sadly, probably harder, than the average American).
2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 (KJV)
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
To their credit, most illegals have a good work ethic. I don’t begrudge anyone for wanting a better life for their family. Just do it legally. Don’t expect to come here and have taxpayers pay for you to sit on your rear while you collect welfare.
Maybe it’s from the Satanic Bible.
What a great point!
OMG-—watta nauseating thought.... “Obama clinging to a Bible.”
