Ill call him Fr. John. He was a charismatic Anglo Catholic priest.
A friend of my brother Daryls well call Henry died suddenly in a plane crash and he was upset because although Henry was a believer he was away from God when he died.
So Fr. John said, We have to have a requiem Mass for Henry.
They went into church and locked the door for privacys sake. Another priest well call Fr. George celebrated the Mass.
Henry was about twenty years old. He was just over five foot tall with a shock of blonde hair and a wide face with freckles.

I am a little younger than you, but I never allowed one in my house. Much to the amusement of my wife and children. My brother used to manage the production line at the game factory where they manufactured them.
Everyone gets a chuckle at me about it.
Inherent to whom? You?
Look up omnipotent.
God tells us what He thinks in the Scripture He breathed out.
He forbids us from communicating with those who have died.
God sending an angel with a message to humans, which is what angels do, is not the same as communicating with those who have died and passed on from this mortal life.
As usual metmom, you make an argument.
This what I actually said (since you cut words from a sentence):
“I have searched them. And I came away with a clear understanding that we can set no limits on Gods power and He does what He does for His own reasons and glory.”
Now, do you think you “can set no limits on Gods power and He does what He does for His own reasons and glory”?
“Why do that if the Pope and RCC can explain it all for you anyway?”
Why not just do it in union with them as Christ wanted?
“Who said Moses was a ghost on the Mount of Transfiguration?”
I don’t know. Who? I certainly never did.
“I learned a LONG time ago that Protestants don’t believe in oral or Apostolic traditions.”
Oh, but they do! They just believe in their johnny-come-lately traditions rather than in Apostolic traditions.
“Theres no reason to believe anything else!”
Apparently there is.
“Foolish playground talk.”
Talking about God is “Foolish playground talk”?
“There is absolutely nothing in scripture to cause anyone to hold such a belief.”
There’s nothing in scripture about sola scriptura but you believe in that.
“Toying with the second death.”
Protestantism.
You weren’t “talking about God,” You were talking about an imaginary god that does capricious things like Satan, or a pope.
.
“Inherent to whom? You?”
To the Church. You never heard this before?
“Look up omnipotent.”
I already know it. Look up logical contradiction.
>> “I learned a LONG time ago that Protestants don’t believe in oral or Apostolic traditions” <<
.
Neither did Yeshua, nor his apostles!
The only “traditions” that the apostles ever even mentioned were the ways of keeping Yehova’s feasts.
Those were not really even true traditions, but written words in the ancient scriptures.
Oral traditions are completely unreliable in any venue, not just in following Yeshua.
Every time a new leader comes along, traditions change, always have, always will.
.
I agree....those are two different things.
“You werent talking about God, You were talking about an imaginary god that does capricious things like Satan, or a pope.”
No, I was talking about God.
“The only traditions that the apostles ever even mentioned were the ways of keeping Yehovas feasts.”
You never read Thessalonians? 2 Thessalonians 2:15
>> “Do you believe that Joseph received a message to flee with the Blessed Virgin Mary and the baby Jesus into Egypt, so that the child would not be killed?” <<
>> “Are you saying you dont believe the Bible?” <<
.
an angel is nothing like a dead person!
Angels are immortal assistants of God, not dead people.
.
Those are exactly the traditions mentioned.
No, God doesn’t do the things you seem to imagine.
The god you spoke of definitely was imaginary.
