I Knew a Priest Who Could See the Dead
ChurchPOP ^ | 2014 | Fr. Dwight Longenecker

I’ll call him Fr. John. He was a charismatic Anglo Catholic priest.

A friend of my brother Daryl’s we’ll call Henry died suddenly in a plane crash and he was upset because although Henry was a believer he was away from God when he died.

So Fr. John said, “We have to have a requiem Mass for Henry.”

They went into church and locked the door for privacy’s sake. Another priest we’ll call Fr. George celebrated the Mass.

Henry was about twenty years old. He was just over five foot tall with a shock of blonde hair and a wide face with freckles.

In case you haven’t heard, Mr. Catholic, Jesus is God.

Probably not something all that familiar to you.

Do you believe that Joseph received a message to flee with the Blessed Virgin Mary and the baby Jesus into Egypt, so that the child would not be killed?

Are you saying you don’t believe the Bible?

Of course I believe the Bible...what does Joseph and Mary going to Egypt have to do with that?

Has anyone ever hear of the term “near death experiences” or NDE’s?

Angels...it would be easier if you just bought a Bible and read it.

Two of them were angels. The other one was God.

Yes, and I know several people who have had a near death experience.

But you said that the dead are dead.

Are you going to make up your mind? Or are you going to renounce what you said earlier.

Where did you get that I don’t believe in dreams? That is what i meant about reading comprehension...you got the wrong idea.

I do believe God has made it clear that witchcraft, mediums, and other sorcerers are an abomination to him.

God can speak in dreams, but the Holy Spirit will reveal what they mean, it is forbidden to go to a psychic to get that interpretation.

Somehow you misinterpreted what I posted.

The Transfiguration, when Jesus was on the mount.

Peter, James and John didnt see Moses and Elijah, they saw demons!

No other way to explain it right?

If the priest did not “summon” the dead, I don’t see any reason to think this was anything other than the spirit of the deceased trying to comfort his brother. Once it was done, through communion, he went “home.”

Nothing evil about an act of compassion, caring, and love for a brother.

“Some people have it. The ability to see things. My mother had it. She called it the shine.”

Because you are constantly programmed about “what is” and when something does not match that filter or paradigm, it is dismissed as folly. After a while you ignore the messages and turn your back on the voices that shouldn’t be there.

But, you still “have it.” You simply have to take it out for a ride once in a while.
