Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...
Only those of us who post a lot are paid.
Last year; I posted so much my wages were DOUBLED!
This relic lifts up a portion of a rotten piece of human flesh as something holy.......400 years after her death, St. Claire's grave was looted by the catholic church.... Clairs heart was cut out. ..The Vatican claims a crucifix and a scourge was found inside this piece of flesh .....reported as a miracle.... which that lead to her canonization 400 years after her death......(they go hunting for more corpses to make merchandise out of them).....
It just hit 2,000 posts.
Here's what I'm thinking:
Forrest Gump: [running] I had run for 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, and 16 hours. [he stops and turns around]
Young Man Running: Quiet, quiet! He's gonna say something!
Forrest Gump: [pause] I'm pretty tired... I think I'll go home now.
It’s evidently a money maker for them.
I got something else from the bible...
2 Timothy 2:14
Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers.
Is there a limit or something?
No he's not...He's already lost the battle and he knows it...but he loves occupying people with trinkets that make them "feel" anything other than security we have in Jesus Christ.
The cross is empty...the grave is empty.....and satan lost in the dessert as well....then he's got the keys!!!!
I thought “The Passion” by Gibson was extremely powerful, and it portrayed the crucifixion.
I find the gospels very powerful, too, and each of them portray the crucifixion.
It was the sacrifice on the cross that paid the penalty for my sins. “He was wounded for my transgressions...the chastisement of my peace was upon Him...and by His stripes I am healed.”
Less than deep Christians run around with an empty cross saying it’s about the resurrection. How silly. They should use an empty tomb to proclaim the resurrection. The empty cross is when they took Jesus to the tomb.
So the crucifix is about the sacrifice.
The empty cross is about the death and removal.
the empty tomb is about the resurrection.
Whoda thunk a thread about Mary would get SO many replies?
Although we HAVE wandered far afield from the original claim.
Why am I reminded of the old commercial that stated: “Parts are parts!”
What I think about a subject has absolutely NO value unless it echos what the Bible says about it.
1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
I don’t think so...but I’ve seen all kinds of excitement when folks hit the 2000 post on threads...beats me..but lets celebrate anyway...I love a good party! LOLOL
They just work for tips.
Amen Elsie...Amen!
No, Prince, I don't have to do "research" seeing as I experienced exactly what I said I did. Are calling me a liar now?
Kids usually go to bed LONG before midnight - our bedtime was 9 p.m. on weekends. Dinner was usually about six. So, yeah, that is what happened. You even confirmed the fasting period was nothing after midnight. So, if a kid ate dinner at 6, went to bed at 9, got up and went to Mass Sunday morning, it's a VERY long time to expect a child to fast. Why do you think they changed it to only an hour?
It's humorous how you are swiping at anything you can to hit back at people you say are "bashing" your religion, yet you do the exact same thing you accuse others of doing. Such pettiness is NOT attractive.
