Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...
Discuss the issues all you want but do not make it personal.
When you discuss another poster, put him or her in the “to” line.
Do not continue to ask the same question over and over, that borders on badgering.
Thanks for the link; the pictures are high quality. I would have been honored to be part of this display. Most likely I will be cremated though (if I have a choice; not blown to smithereens, etc.) and then put six-feet under along with my hubby who doesn’t plan on being cremated. Have you thought about how you’d like to be buried. Do you believe in the rapture?
YLT
So, does that mean you come from a Trinitarian belief?
Perhaps SDA...they are Trinitarian, premil, and consider Roman Catholicism to be Mystery Babylon.
Are you afraid of bones in a human physiology class?
I’ve worked on Search and Recovery Teams (we found and bagged remains rather than licking them), I was trained as a combat lifesaver, I’ve worked casualty and mortuary affairs. I’ve also been drenched in other peoples blood on multiple occasion.
I don’t “fear” bones or any other remains. Do you know why we call them “remains?” The soul is gone. The remains is all that is left. When you buy food do you eat the packaging?
Thank you for your work. I wish your position was paid. Then you’d be eligivle for bonuses and overtime.
I’ll only ask it 25% or less.
Yes, I thought about the last verses also. He was in the spirit just as John was when he wrote Revelation.
Ezekiel 37:1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
It was a prophetic vision.
I generally do, but I am one person answering about 4 or 5 others. A quick response sometimes doesn’t handle all the normal amenities like ‘to’ lines ... that aren’t required in forum official rules.
And what was the fulfillment? Ooooie, eeeeery, scarrrrry?
Have you thought about how youd like to be buried. Do you believe in the rapture?
That hasn’t happened yet. Dead bodies are empty shells. God will restore us all to glorified bodies.
I hope they’re candy coated so you get a pleasant tast when you lick em. /jj too.
The remains is all that’s left....
2 Kings 13:
13 Jehoash rested with his fathers, and Jeroboam succeeded him on the throne. Jehoash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel. 14 Now Elisha was suffering from the illness from which he died. Jehoash king of Israel went down to see him and wept over him. “My father! My father!” he cried. “The chariots and horsemen of Israel!” 15 Elisha said, “Get a bow and some arrows,” and he did so. 16 “Take the bow in your hands,” he said to the king of Israel. When he had taken it, Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands. 17 “Open the east window,” he said, and he opened it. “Shoot!” Elisha said, and he shot. “The LORD’s arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram!” Elisha declared. “You will completely destroy the Arameans at Aphek.” 18 Then he said, “Take the arrows,” and the king took them. Elisha told him, “Strike the ground.” He struck it three times and stopped. 19 The man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.” 20 Elisha died and was buried. Now Moabite raiders used to enter the country every spring. 21 Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.
Get off that “scary” meme. There is nothing Scary about bones. I do my own butchering and I used to be an EMT. There is nothing scary about a dead body animal or human. I don’t find them morbid or scary. I do however understand the link to paganism.
Well, I’m not telling my denominational affiliation either and I have been harassed more by other FReepers than you have been harassing CB.
“whimsical” has such a fun connotation doesn’t it?
Restore glorified bodies....
There are bodies before the rapture...
Matthew 17: 1 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. 2 There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. 3 Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus. 4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” 5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” 6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified.
I’m not afraid of anything.
I’ve come too close to dying to be afraid of anything any more.
So, then where does the apparent fear come from regarding skulls and bones?
Badgering gets old.
