Hi - I come to you humbly asking for your thoughts and prayers for our daughter. She just went abroad as she starts her Junior year from Gettysburg College and is in Melbourne, Australia. She has been there just over 2 weeks.
Things were going great until she called this morning to say she was in the ER because she hasn't felt well, has had a headache for 2 days, and feels like she has been hit by a truck.
Long story short, she is being treated for a bacterial infection and the hospital is bringing in infectious disease doctors. Her temp was 104. She is on antibiotics and feeling better...but we are so worried.
We live in Baltimore and I feel helpless. She is a great student and has made friends, two of which have stayed with her almost the whole time. The logistics are being handled thru an organization called Arcadia, and they have been tremendous, both in Australia and the US office.
We have a wonderful support system (family and friends) praying for her and have felt their prayers as my husband and I feel so helpless....but I would truly covet and be evergrateful if you feel led to pray for us and our daughter, Christina.
I apologize ahead of time if I can't respond personally....please know I will try. God bless you.
Prayers done.
SD- are You still “down under”? And if so anywhere nearby?
I promise they (the Medical Staff) will be. I love my family there and the care I promise is excellent. They (the Medical Staff) will go far beyond the call.
thank you much.
Prayers up.
I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. Prayers for your daughter’s prompt and full recovery, and for strength and clarity for those who love her.
If you do not have a passport, you might ask your congressman whether there is an expedited way to get one, just in case you feel a need to travel.
Blessings.
thank you ma and McG.

awww...tks. meant to say she’s the one with short dark hair! :)
If it is possible to Face Time with your daughter and her doctors daily so that you can ask questions and see how she is doing it may alleviate your feeling of helplessness.
I'm trying to reply but I know I will miss someone. The response is so touching...and a blessed distraction!
Prayers!!!’
For her healing and your strength.
I enjoyed reading her blog; she’s a good writer! She sounds like a very button down, smart, and fun loving girl. Prayers have been sent and I’m sure she’ll be just fine!
