As Joel and Victoria Osteen get ready to launch their "America's Night of Hope" tour, ticket scalpers are in high gear.
The tour starts Saturday at Yankee Stadium.
On Thursday morning, two seats in the first row of the stadium's Delta Suite B were for sale on eBay and StubHub for $850 each.
In an effort to minimize ticket scalping, the Joel Osteen organization does not sell tickets in large blocks, Davis said.
On Thursday, Victoria Osteen was with a group of children at the Bronx Zoo as part of the project, David said. "Mentoring was the theme," she said. "We took about 300 kids from local schools and let them experience a fun day at the zoo."

Do away with the “problem” by not charging.
Billy Graham did just fine by just opening the gates and passing a bucket.

Nice to hear. I did not know that Billy Graham didn’t sell tickets to his events.
It rubs me the wrong way, to think that scalpers are making money off a religious event. Then again, apparently people are willing to pay.

This is a religious event?

Isn’t Joel Osteen a preacher or minister? I’m not really familiar with him, but thought he is a Christian minister? No?

It rubs me the wrong way that tickets are sold to a "religious event."
But I guess if you preach the prosperity gospel it is just another way to ensure that you have your best life now.
Of course that is probably chump change compared to the take from books, t-shirts, ball caps and other trinkets being hawked to the gullible.

There are people who would actually pay that much to go hear a watered-down version of Christianity from a prosperity-feel good preacher?

It is a church where sin, Jesus, redemption are not preached. It is all about you having a nice life.

Isnt Joel Osteen a preacher or minister? Im not really familiar with him, but thought he is a Christian minister? No?He is a cult leader. He doesn't preach the gospel at all. It is a new age "name it and claim it" message.

He has apparently “motivated” hundreds of thousands of people... to do what? Where are they? What great things have they done for this country?
