Jacob’s life prior to Haran was perfect (tam), although he was afraid of evil Esau. It was providential that Jacob listened to, and obeyed, his godly mother Rebekah after his father blindly loved Esau for unspiritual reasons. Yet you speak evil of dignitaries who are the root that bears you, if you are attached to the right tree. Cursing Jacob is the doctrine of Baalam, its wages are death, and it is to be abhored.

The grace is Yehova giving us faith. The faith is what allows us to persevere to the end, resulting in salvation. If your faith fails to endure to the end, there is no salvation.
'IF' it fails; then most would claim it was a mighty crummy GIFT!

My my, what a lofty perch you occupy. I was not 'cursing Jacob'. I was pointing out the behaviors which show Jacob living/down up to his name. He deceived his father for the blessing, and he used subterfuge / deception on many occasions or is that being ignored by you from your lofty perch?
Can you explain for us why the Bible states that David was a man after God's own heart? Do you understand why the Bible says God loved Jacob? Do you comprehend the nature of the broken and contrite spirit? Are you so shallow that you do not understand how God counts perfect (remember, Abraham believed God and it was counted for him righteousness, though Abraham's life is not a picture of perfection, without sin) since He sees the end from the beginning? Does the axiom of 'your sins are no more, gone, wiped away' fit in your perspective of time, the way God perceives your temporal existence?
When you set out to instruct others, you have the obligation to study to show thyself approved.

The fact that Yeshua saw fit to say that only those that endure to the end would be saved is a sure indication that many will not endure.

No problem, I included you because you had responded to MHGinTN and tried to correct his comments with respect to Jacob. There is no cc line in these replies.

I was not 'cursing Jacob'. I was pointing out the behaviors which show Jacob living/down up to his name. You wrote: - Youre making a nice Jacob of yourself ... as if you meant it as a playground slur instead of the honor it really is.
- Well, in that case you might want to study your Old Testament more, because Jacob was a twister. It was not until he wrestled with 'the Angel' that he got straightened out and was renamed Israel. Even the location (Haran) was renamed by Jacob to Bethel. Here you maligned Jacob again. He was not a twister. He as tam man, perfect and upright in God's eyes, although not yours. He did exactly as he was supposed to do, obeying his mother, as the elect of God to preserve the birthright of the seed from an evil man. Are you subconciously upset that Jacob because he inherited the birthright instead of Esau, the seed of the evil one ? Do you not know Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. ?

You are perhaps missing one of the great mysteries reveal, in the lesson of Jacob. To start to comprehend the essence, look at what Paul said regarding Abraham: 'He believed God and it was counted for him righteousness.'
David, a man who stole from others, committed adultery and conceived a child with Bathsheba, then tried to cover it up with a grand deception and sending her husband Uriah out to be slaughtered --in effect murdering him to solve the state of adultery, etc, he, David, had committed, yet he is called 'a man after God's own heart.'
Jacob deceived his father, lied to his brother, and had a portion of his life spent conniving and deceiving. Yet he is called a man perfect in God's sight. How can these things be? ...
God sees the entire of your life at any moment in your life. He knows you inwardly and He knows how you will live once you put your trust in Him rather than your own conniving and deceitfulness. Because of what Jesus accomplished upon the Cross and rose from the dead to bring forth for you and me, we too, despite our flaws, can be perfect in God's sight ... by the Grace of God in Christ. Jacob was not a perfect man for every day of his life. BUT he finished out his life following where God led him rather than where his lust or ambitions led him.
His 'Grace of God in Christ' toward us is how David can be said to be a man after God's own heart. David put his trust in God and had the broken and contrite spirit which God will in no wise cast out.
You and I have no righteousness by our efforts. We have ONLY the righteousness counted to the Grace of God in Christ. That same Grace was for Abraham and Issac, and Jacob, and Solomon ... don't miss the wonderful message of flawed men whom God counts as righteous in His eyes, for He is seeing His Grace in Christ in your place. That is, my FRiend, the mystery of Godliness.

Your comments again malign a dignitary, our elder, Jacob, who is in the Hebrews hall of fame. You accuse him of conniving and deceiving completely blind to the fact, the biblical fact that Jacob was chosen by God, loved by God, and the rightful heir of Isaac's blessing. Jacob did God's will by obeying his mother Rebekah. God hated Esau and said he could not inherit. You seem troubled by that and complain that Jacob lied to his brother Esau, who was the seed of the serpent and would have exterminated the seed of the woman if Isaac's lack of spiritual vision had persisted. Rebekah knew the difference. Balaam did not and it cost him his life. He kept trying to curse Jacob but ended up prophetically blessing him (Numbers 24).

Great faith is not found on the highest mountains, or the highest peaks, no.
Great faith is not found in the greatest PHDs, or theological degrees, or in the greatest of class rooms, no.
Great faith is not found in the greatest pulpits, or the glory of the spotlight, no.
Great faith is found in the deepest of valleys, the hardest of times when faith seems so little.
Great faith is found when tested, and ? even failed God.
Great faith is found when all human efforts are exhausted.
Great faith is found when there is no reason to go on.
Great faith is found in the most unlikely of all places.
Great faith is found in the deepest nooks and crannies where often as like a river bed or stream bed gold is found.
Great faith is found in life's greatest of struggles.
Great faith is found in God's testings, and even if you fail, your faith remains.
To: Tennessee Nana
It is the faith, which we are given by his grace, that leads to our salvation through persevering to the end, at the last trump.
