At a November 19 press conference, Vatican officials updated reporters on the restoration of the catacombs of Priscilla and the excavation work in the basilica of San Silvestro.
In a 5-year project, workers have restored paintings in the catacombs and unearthed hundreds of ancient items, which are now stores in an exhibition space within the basilica of San Silvestro. Virtual tours of the catacombs of Priscilla are now available on a dedicated web site, and will be accessible through Google Maps
