A long and full life. What a blessing!
But the loss of one’s father (and patriarch, no doubt) is a hole that just doesn’t quite ever fill.
My sincere condolences and prayers.
Peace to you, and comfort to your whole house.

Pray for my borthers and sisters who are there arranging everything. (I’m the oldest of seven and one brother is deceased.)
I don’t even knoe if the caridologist will release me to go to the funeral with the high atrial fib that I am dealing with.

So sorry, Salvation. Praying for you, your Dad, and your whole family and loved ones.
Blessed Pope John Paul II died on the Vigil of Divine Mercy Sunday (a different day that year), as discussed at this link:
Divine Mercy and Pope John Paul II
Asking for his prayers also, and may Our Blessed Mother console you (and remember that all our "Hail Mary's" we ever say ask Mary to pray for us and our loved ones at the hour of our deaths.)

I just sent that to my brothers and sister for the funeral handout. Never know! If you want, I can send you the entire prayer which includes remembrances for priests, martyrs, apostles, etc. This prayer is chanted at the conclusion of the funeral mass while the priest incenses the coffin. It is traditional in the Maronite Church to celebrate a mass 40 days after the funeral, at which time the Myrrh & Incense prayer is again chanted at the conclusion of the mass and once again on the 1st anniversary. Let me know.

Gonna post the full story sometime this evening. Very tired right now, but will post my story before the night is over. Might be a little surprising. Might be boring. But feel as though an explanation is in order to clear up any confusion.
Thank you for asking.
To: NYer
Please do. It is beautiful. My brother who died was a priest.
