Are Cardinals Electing The Last Pope? If You Believe Nostradamus...
By Carol Grisanti, Producer, NBC News ROME (snip)
According to an ancient prediction, this next pope will be the last. That theory dates back more than 900 years to when Malachy OMorgair, the 12th century Archbishop of Ireland, had a vision.
Legend has it that St. Malachy, as he is now known, had a strange dream while on a visit to Rome. He saw all the names of the future popes complete with identifying characteristics who would rule the church until the end of time.
In his book, Life of St. Malachy, St. Bernard of Clairvaux wrote that Malachy was respected as a clairvoyant who predicted the exact day and hour of his own death. At least one 20th century pope, Pius X, was convinced Malachys vision was divine, according to Rafael Merry del Val, his biographer.

Pope Benedict was apparently described as glory of the olives and doomsayers point to his choice of the name Benedict, since the founder of the Benedictine Order was also known as Olivetans.
And in Malachys vision, the last pope who will soon be elected is described this way: in extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman
While none of the Italian Cardinals are called Peter, one favorite to become Pope is Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana.
Lighting strikes the basilica of St.Peter's dome in Vatican City during a storm on Feb.11, 2013, the same day Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation.
Nostradamus: a comet and a lightening bolt If that was not enough to send shivers down a few spines, Nostradamus, the 16th century French astrologer and seer, predicted much the same as Malachy.

I think they should seal the decision in an envelope and let Michelle Obama read it for everyone to hear. LOL
I read on him. He strikes me as a socialist. I think he was running some kind of world blah blah blah something organization that’s not worth remembering or knowing about in the first place. A speech I read from him had all the marks of a pinko.
I think it is more likely that America has elected its last president.
What has Notredamus to do with it? If the cardinals are about to elect the last pope, so be it — there is nothing anyone can do about it.
Hasn’t Christianity prayed for the Lord’s return in glory from the very beginning when the Roman persecutions started? There must have been many Christians in nazi deathcamps who prayed for the Lord’s return then and there.
How often have we read FReepers expressing their desire for the “final solution” although it was meant entirely different from the way the nazis wanted it to be?
> I think it is more likely that America has elected its last president.
Those horns must be on the verge of poppin’ out...

.
Big deal — that’s why we place lightning rods on tall buildings. The basilica has probably been struck many times before and will be many times more.
It’s the weather and global warming. (heh, heh)
ping for keepers
Michelle Obama announcing “Habemus Papam”?
ROTFLOL!
Or if he's from Romania...
Can you say that of any other church?
God’s temple is within every believer, a living sanctuary for the Holy Spirit.
If Peter from Africa is elected Im going to daily mass, to wait for my end times.Heck, why wait for the end times to attend daily mass? Start tomorrow! :)
In the movie and I assume the novel “Shoes of the Fisherman,” Cyril actually does take the name Cyril.
But it would take quite a bit of hubris, or realization that these are the end times, for a Pope Peter II.
As I recall, John Paul I actually called himself “Johanne Paulo Primo” (I remember the Primo part - I assume the rest was in the ablative)....but the other one-of-a-kind popes — have no number.
I wonder, is the “1st” assigned proleptically except in the case of JPI?
There’s probably no way to know — the last one-of-a-kind was Pope Lando (A.D. 913-914); the last 1st was Marinus I (882-884), with Marinus II serving 942-946?
I think they should seal the decision in an envelope and let Michelle Obama read it for everyone to hear. LOLOh, now that's funny... send it to SNL; maybe they'll use it...
If the new pope elected is a “reformer” and changes Church teachings on the basics of abortion and homosexuality, he could be the last pope as we know it because a great schism
could occur.
Absolutely! If someone can somehow whip up enough interest in bogus "prophecies" maybe everyone will forget that the world ended (at least three time, no less) last year.
That would revive the bestselling "Christ Surrenders to Satan" doctrine to once again be a huge cash cow.
Books, videos, conferences, and speaking fees, yes indeed, let charlatans get busy shearing the gullible sheep yet again. I bet the Moonies have already put up the money so a well known "prophecy expert" can start printing,
"The Great Bait Surrender & Evacuation : How millions from each of the six genders be snatched up to rupture at high altitude !!"
With new bestsellers to focus on, the fluffy little, frolic prone, horny, bleaters, will keep on ignoring the fact that their First Amendment right to Freedom of Religion is being replaced with a Federally subsidized right to Freedom of Fornication.
I heard it might go to Cardinal Sicola.
Then we could have Pope Sicola.
The end of the world is coming. And we are ALL going to die.
I don’t know the time or day. But eventually our sun will go out with one hell of a bang and fry everyone on the planet.
A lot could happen between now and then.
I don’t think I will worry too much about it all.
There is nothing in the Bible, nor historical records, as far as I know that the apostle Peter was ever in Rome much less buried there.
And, the Whore of Babylon is...
