A Jewish class on why Jews do not accept Christianity. I post for Jews to self-educate and for Christians to understand the Jewish point of view--not that it matters (that they do.)
To me one of the most astounding words of our Lord and Saviour is in John 4:21-24:
“Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe Me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship what ye know not: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
Another is in Isaiah 1:18:
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
And in Isaiah 53:6:
“All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”
“By truth and mercy iniquity is purged; and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.” (Proverbs 16:6)
“For He[God] hath made Him[Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
“But when the fulness of time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba Father. Wherefore thou are a servant, but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” (Galatians 4:4-7)
“Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD, praise Ye the LORD.” Psalm 150:6)
Had not heard that before. Could u give me book, chapter, and verse form God’s word where that information is provided.

To fulfill Gods plan.
To fulfill Gods plan.
I believe that the answer is simple: God wants the Jews where they are-keeping the Torah. The Torah is the Link between heaven and earth. It establishes God’s presence on the earth.
No Torah, no God (including Jesus).
No Jews, no Torah. This is why Evil ALWAYS hates the Jews. This is how we know Evil.
God has a special love for the Jew, and we Christians should too.
I’ve, by the grace, mercy, and the gift of God been a Christian for nearly 60 years (May 1953)and I’ve heard you cannot be a Christian and a Jew at the same time.
Then as I thought on this; I remembered there was no Gentiles in the beginning of the Church, only Jews. The Gentiles came in later, as the Christian Jews reached out to them.
As I see it,all 66 books in the Bible were written by the Jews, All the apostles of Christ were Jews. Jesus himself was a Jew, and He taught: Salvation was of the Jews...” (John 4:22)
I have owned for many years these 2 books, which I highly recommend:
“If I were a Jew” by Robert G. Lee; and “What the Church Owes the Jew” by Leslie B. Flynn. They are very readings and most enlightening for both the Gentile and the Jew (and even unbelievers).
Good points!
Just because we name ourselves something, or give our church a name; does not make it so:
In Revelation 3:1c we read: “....thou hast a name that liveth, and art dead.”
Jesus said if ye love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15)
This is on a bookmark titled: “49 Ways to Love God and Others”
This caused me to examine myself;
1. How can I love God if I don’t know Him?
2. How can I love my neighbors if I don’t know them?
3. How can I keep His commandments if I don’t know them?
Jesus taught: “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
With nothing but respect and a reliance on a sense of humor, let me relate and old observation about Jewish culture that might help explain this.
If one asks three Jews a question, one should expect at least five contradictory opinions.
So, you agree with Luther?
I’m not sure why it gets under my skin so much, but you and others that feel compelled to confront faithful Jews on this website really get me angry. What chutzpah! You presume to interpret the Torah for us to prove us wrong? That is just ridiculous.
Maybe its just this: for 2,000 years, Christians have savagely persecuted us in the name of Christian love and in the name of Christ. Literally millions of my people have been brutally murdered, raped, robbed, vilified, exiled and humiliated by Christians. In many cases, my people were burned alive rather than accept Christianity. It’s very hard for me to respect your “arguments” after we have suffered so much by all your past evangelism.
Are you now going to say that you are much more enlightened than the previous 2,000 years of church leaders and devout followers? Those years of horrid persecution cannot be wiped away as doctrinal errors.
Hashem is One and his Torah is One. There is no other G-d or any “parts” of G-d. The whole eternal Torah, including the written and oral law, were given to the Jewish people by Hashem at Mount Sinai. That is the ONLY source of understanding Hashem, His prophets, His prophecies and the nature of the true Moshiach. Christian interpretation of the Torah is wrong. The notion that the people who rejected the Torah, who sought to “reform” the Torah, are now the people lecturing the faithful followers of the Torah on the meaning of the Torah, is preposterous, to put it kindly.
Please, don’t respond with one of your condescending lectures about how misguided I am, how I have to forgive and open my eyes to the truth, how my anger is self-destructive or clouding my understanding.
If you want to be a Christian, good for you. Have a wonderful life. But drop the idea of telling us what the Torah says and leave us the hell alone.
See post 90.
Christian Zionism is *relatively* recent, usually traced to Henry Finch in the early 1600s. It was based on the plain meanings of the translated text of the King James Bible. It was one of the undertones of the ‘Great Awakening’.
“If you really want to get on a Jew’s nerves, ask them how their sins are forgiven for the last couple thousand years since the Temple was destroyed and they don’t have their sacrifices anymore?”
Why would that get on our nerves? Temple sacrifices are for when there is a temple. Did G-d allow Ezekiel, Daniel, Esther, Mordecai, and even Isaiah to die in exile with no temple and go to hell? They had no temple and offered no sacrifices.
Prayer, Repentance, Charity, Fasting all atone for sin. Plenty of scriptures available to show that.
bad people cut off, there is no evidence for that.”
Of course there is. Do a word study on Karet...cut-off. ONLY bad people are cut-off. Righteous people are NEVER cut-off.
“cut-off” from the land of the living....land of the living also means Israel. This is prophetic language for being exiled. Isaiah uses a lot of poetic language in his prophecies.
If that town square style of debate offends you, then ignore the "open" RF threads altogether and instead post to RF threads labeled "caucus" "ecumenical" "prayer" or "devotional."
Or, if you do not wish to see RF posts, do NOT use the "everything" option on the Free Republic browse option list. Instead, browse by "News/Activism." When you log back in, the browse will reset to "everything" - so be sure to set it back to "News/Activism."

It would seem Jesus should have known of microbial infection when he stated that he didn’t wash his hands prior to eating because it’s not what goes in but what comes out. After all, he is said to have known of his overall destiny. Of course he wouldn’t have spoken the truth of it since that would have interfered with history. But it would seem to me that he should have stuck with established custom which, in fact was closer to later perceived reality.
Because the holiest Jewish prayer declares “the Lord is one.”
Christians will always be furious with Jews for being evidence that Christianity is not the source of morality. This is a mortal blow to their arrogance that must be blocked at all costs.
