Your prayer requests reach so many and I have a friend who could really use the prayers of people on Freerepublic.
Her name is Jen. She’s 40, a teacher, and the wife of a boyhood friend of mine. She received 2nd degree burns on her face, neck, arms, and hands and possible 3rd degree burns on her chest this past Saturday. She was at a Caribbean resort on what should have been the first evening of a week’s vacation, when the preparation of a flaming dessert went horribly wrong. (It sounds like a lame joke, I know.)
She is now in the burn unit of a top U.S. hospital bandaged like a mummy. She’s tough but burns are bad news. I worry about her spirits, her recovery, her faith and the faith of those around her. (So devastating an injury, especially for a young woman, under such ridiculous circumstances.)

Dear Lord, be with Jen. Relieve her of her pain and suffering and heal her quickly.
Dear Heavenly Father, We ask You to heal our sister, Jen. May her body heal from this injury. Please give her the strength to deal with the pain, both physically and emotionally, to recover fully. We also ask You to comfort and surround her family and friends with love. In This I Pray. Amen.

Thank you for so many prayers. I hope to post an update on Jen’s condition early next week.
Have thought about her so many times. She is in my heart. Continuing my prayers for Jen and her family.
Has there been any news about Jen? I pray for her every day.
