Prayers for a lost pet
Prayers offered for the return of Alice. Salamander... I said a special prayer to St. Francis to intervene. My hope is that she went into one of the spaces to look for a mouse. I don’t know much about snakes... does she shed? If so, don’t they prefer to go somewhere darker and more private to do so? I am hoping she pops right up with new, pretty skin. Hugs, tighter hugs, and extremely tight hugs to you. We all love you and it hurts me to think how worried and upset you must be. Mom
Prayers up for your missing buddy! When our corn snake escaped her cage, she would be found in the closet in the sleeping bags ;-).
Prayers,my Grandson’s snake was missing for 3 months. He crawled across his face one night. That’s how they found him.Strangle’s was fatter then when he escaped.
God bless you, friend.
It was another long night.
No snake yet.
Yes they shed but he just did, recently.
He’s scared of live mice so that’s not why.
It’s probably my own fault.
He’s always been taken out and loved on frequently and with all the other stuff going on here right now, I’ve not had as much time to baby him.
Every time I went past his house, he’d come and ‘beg’ to be out but things have been very hectic for the last few weeks.
He wanted to be out with me and didn’t realize that getting out didn’t necessarily mean I’d be picking him up like always.
The front of his tank has a drop down door and I’d spend time sitting with him as he laid on the open door, just stroking his back when I didn’t have time to take him out and cuddle him properly.
He managed to get himself out but I’m thinking his little pea brain just didn’t think his plan the whole way through.
I know he’s wondering where I am just as much as I’m wondering where he is.
I hope he doesn’t think I’ve abandoned him just because I haven’t come to fetch him.
He’s always trusted and relied on me to take care of him and keep him safe but I wasn’t there this time.
And dear God, that’s what hurts most.
I love you too, Mom.
You’re good people.
I think you should’ve bought her her own little sleeping bag...:]
I know.
:)
“Strangles was fatter then when he escaped.”
Well, that’s a happy but kind of scary ending...;)
In all seriousness, I hope you find your buddy.
Heheheheheh,That’s what we all said.I saw him the next day and he looked like he had just eaten.:)
Thanks much for the ping Gramma!
And for you Salamander, and your sweet boy, Alice, prayers and more prayers. Even just a few minutes of, “Wait a minute, somewhere, I am missing one bad little rat!”;*and where one goes eeeveryone else can, and WILL follow : o; can be heartstopping, so not only am I praying for Alice’s prompt and safe return, but also, for God to bring you, my FRiend, and the DH a little calm until he does.
Heavenly Father, please keep watch over Alice, and ease Salamander’s heart and mind, until they are finally together again.
Tatt
That was very weird.
Thank you.
:)
Was your house mouse-free for a while?
;D
It happened in the late summer of 1979 in NW Florida, while I was overseas. I remember that snake. He brought him to a gathering, and he took up much of the living room. My boyfriend was very concerned for our safety, and ushered me out to the car. He tried to get his brother to give up his pet, but couldn’t talk sense into him.
Of course, he was many times the size of your lap pet. I’m praying today will see poor Alice back to you!
Thanks...I could use a great big sack of ‘calm’ right about now.
:)
Holy herps!
It must’ve been a Reticulated Python.
They’re usually calm but the handler’s rule definitely applies to them; “one person per 6 feet of snake”, no exceptions.
It’s extremely unwise to handle a snake that big alone.
They can panic and constrict out of fear.
That’s why properly supporting a snake you’re carrying is *so* important.
If they think they’re going to fall, they’ll freak out and hang on to you and if you’re not very experienced or are alone, it can end in tragedy.
I’m sorry for your loss.
:(
I just looked up Ring Snake on google. That is not it. The snake I saw had a pale yellow belly and was brown on top with some sort of design. Our beagle, Elmer, had one cornered the other day and when my husband went to get him, the snake struck at the RTV but that may have been because he was stressed out.
Woke up thinking about Alice. It may take awhile, but I am sure she will appear. Can you plug the holes in your log cabin with steel wool in case she is still indoors?
Eeek! What about strange people (on FR and elsewhere) who have MICE for pets and name them things like “Mickey” and “Minnie”? Not me! . . but, I’m sure there must be some.
Husband spent a long time freeing a garden snake from the bird netting he’d managed to entangle himself in last year. The snake almost squeezed the tar out of his arm; but he finally got him untangled. - This year, he has grown a lot and comes out and visits my husband when he’s working in the garden, totally unafraid of us.
Well, a charmer I am, but not so much with snakes per se, so I’ve no experience to draw upon. But In Arizona there are professional pet finders who deal commonly in these lost pets as well as capture and release. Suppose Arizonans keep a lot of these...might there be such a service in your neck of the woods you could enlist? Sooner the better.
