Non-mormon FReepers feel impelled to defend mormonism based on their "feelings" or friendship with mormons.

In posting this article, I'm providing the service of a brief outline of mormon beliefs so that these defenders of mormonism may see just what they are defending.

This is a bare bones summary with much left out of mormon practices such as baptism for the dead.

Great information, however grey there will still be people who claim to be Christians that will defend mormonism as ok.

I guess this means we are morally obliged to vote for the Muslim.

Do these teachings and beliefs make any practical difference in how ordinary Mormons live their lives? Aren't they all busy with day to day tasks of raising large families and work, Church activities, etc? I doubt the average Mormon housewife is going to even know these doctrines, let alone act on them. My guess (not having close contacts with any practicing Mormons) is that they will acknowledge general high-level precepts about Christ being their savior, but will not know the significance of the theological points of their doctrine in practical terms. In other words, from an outwardly standpoint, they will seem to adhere to the general Christian lifestyle principles of holiness and sanctification as preached by, for example, Paul in his epistles.

Correct? Just wondering...

Today is Pentecost Sunday for Christians...

I said “Christians”

I didnt say any home grown false religion that misuses the name...

and doesnt believe in the Trinity...

Before He went back to Heaven from where He had come and where He had ALWAYS been...

The LORD Jesus Christ told His disciples..

If I go away I will send ANOTHER Comforter...John 14:16

While in the Greek the word comforter is parakletos, meaning intersessor, helper, consoler, advocate, comforter...

The word the LORD Jesus Christ for another is uses “allos” which means another LIKE me..another just the same..

and yet to Mormons their Mormon holy ghost is not God but is only equal to a mascot, a lap dog..with no power..

While all the time He is God..

The Third Person of the Trinity..

Mormons dont believe that Jesus is God...

Mormons dont believe that the Holy Spirit is God...,

and they believe that their Mormon god is in several parts...gods...

but The LORD Jesus Christ clearly told us that that is not true...

The LORD Jesus Christ...the Second Person of the Trinity the Word of God could not be here on Earth at the same time as the Third Person of the Trinity...

although Mormon try to say that it has happened to their own gods.....

Christians find no reason to doubt the words of the Lord Jesus when He said, “Scripture cannot be broken” (John 10:35), and “[h]eaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away” (Mat. 24:35).

We MORMONs agree this is truly in the BIBLE; but what is PROBABLY missing is the phrase: "after the restoration of Joseph".

Making the reading thus:

After the restoration of Joseph, scripture cannot be broken” (John 10:35)

What’s the point? It wouldn’t be hard to do this with just about any religion. I could point out the differences between Christianity and Methodism, or Catholicism, or Southern Baptists. Big deal.

Do you really want Obama to beat Romney?

Matt. 29 “Immediately after othe tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Revelation 1:7 “Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.”

Sorry, I don’t see anything in the Bible about a secret meeting in a forest with a teenage conman. The Bible states that when Christ returns, it will be for the whole world to see. Not in secret.

Will we Jews and Israelis that don’t believe Jesus is God, be in the same boat as the Mormons?

According to Mormonism and their own words, all ten of these are true and this why Mormonism is a cult!

What practical effect does this differing theology have on the behavior and actions of Mormons?

I don't have the time, but it would be very easy to put together a piece mocking the beliefs of Christians; virgin mother, blood washes sins away, bread is the actual body of Christ and many other points.

So, what is the point of writing about Mormon theology? An attack on Romney? The "Christian" Obama is a more moral person than Romney? Really?

What's the point?
