From the article: Britain's late Princess Diana has been posthumously baptised a Mormon...Other late stars to have been 'baptised' posthumously include Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe and Rita Hayworth.

(I wonder if Monroe is reserved for Joseph Smith as an afterlife wife...what would Emma think...or Joe DiMaggio?)

People say they don’t care about Romney’s religion, but I quite frankly don’t want anyone who believes this craziness leading the nation.

I can’t understand why people get upset over this stuff. They think they are doing a good thing. What harm are they doing?

Well darn. I wish there were a pervasive 24 hour news channel, radio stations galore and a global web, erh, Internet so we could learn about this.

Good for Diana. Now I know I’ll meet her in heaven. She was still a babe when she crapped out!

The Mormon Church believes that in the afterlife no one is beyond redemption, no matter how evil they were, so the list also includes Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler?

So, the holocaust victims are in mormon heaven with Hitler. And they are there to do what? Be servants to the Mormons in the celestial kingdom?

Mormons are such silly people. Based on a cult, one that denies the Grace of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. There was nothing for Jesus to complete in the Americas, other than conversion of the lost whom live there!

Using a computer log-on passed to her by a disaffected follower

These are the people who are causing families pain. The Mormons don’t send the families letters telling them they’ve done this. It’s a private ceremony. If there is any distress it’s because of jerks like this.

I think an interesting measure of Mormonism and whether it is evil, is the devotion that our few atheists here give to it.

Look at how they flock to this thread like moths.

Jesus said,

Mat 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Ah, how nice.

As I have said on several previous threads: It’s the thought that counts: they are trying to do something nice for her. It’s not an insult for people to wish you well.

And she also received the “last rites” from a Catholic priest in the French hospitals’ emergency room.

So if either the Catholics or the LDS are correct, she will find a nice place in the after life.

For those that suggest that “no one is harmed” by this practice, does it bother you at all that they use children as young as 12 to stand in and to be “dunked” for people they don’t even know?

As Mormons love to close their testimonies, “I know this to be true”.

I understand from an individual perspective that some may not care one way or the other, but it's a pattern of disrespecting others beliefs.

If the mormons are to be believed on this issue, then one should probably consider the following...

11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

See, they claim in their creed that they are respecters of other faiths, yet their actions are in conflict with their words.

Also note the use of the word "allow". Really? "Allow"? Like I need your permission to worship how I choose.

As a former mormon, I don't find this surprising that they would put their own desires above the desires of others, especially in a matter as sensitive as this.

IOW, it's hypocritical. They say one thing and do another.

It's also blasphemy in that they believe they can be "saviors" to the dead through this pagan ritual.
