Excerpts:
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Kings 13:18 The old prophet answered, "I too am a prophet, as you are. And an angel said to me by the word of the LORD: 'Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water.'" (But he was lying to him.)
Jeremiah 23:16 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.
Ezekiel 22:27 Her officials within her are like wolves tearing their prey; they shed blood and kill people to make unjust gain.
Daniel 11:34 When they fall, they will receive a little help, and many who are not sincere will join them.
Matthew 7:14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Matthew 24:11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
Matthew 24:24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible.
Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect--if that were possible.
Luke 6:26 Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets.
John 10:12 The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.
Acts 13:6 They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus,
Acts 20:29 I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.
Romans 16:17 I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.
2 Timothy 3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.
1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Revelation 16:13 Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
Revelation 19:20 But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
Revelation 20:10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

I have my flame suit on.
I'll have a go at this - YES.
I'd tend to say yes.
I know a couple of Mormons and they are fine people, but
I can't reconcile the anti-Christian theology. At all.
Then again, Romney could be made Pope and I would still shun him.
Good stuff on false prophets. I agree that the verses warning us to beware of false prophets apply to Joseph Smith and to others (such as Mohamhed) who claimed that everyone else is wrong and we must all follow their prophet who made all sorts of additions and/or changes to scripture.
beware of false prophets and false prophecy, so I’ll ask. Do these teachings apply and if so, would they apply specifically to people like Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and the so-called Book of Mormon?

Yes Jim they do..
Merry Christmas
ABSOLUTELY - Joseph Smith was a man of low character, a scammer, adulterer, and a false prophet.
Truth doesn't reside in a book. It LIVES in yourself.
I'm going to play you a song.
IMO, the Mormons have more Chritianity than most.
I do not understand how so many would believe what they believe that satan was Jesus brother ????!!!
Even when you tell them something evil can not be born out of holiness ?!
You forgot Mohammed, Boss. The ultimate false anything.
I think Jim Jones would fall into this category.
YES! As well the JW, and I am sorry to say many so called Christian churches and ministers who preach not what God said, but what they know He meant to say, that put the word of man and traditions ahead to the teachings of Christ.
No I will not elaborate or list them. For it is easy enough for any and all to make their own concise and accurate list by simply judging every doctrine by what is written in the KJV Bible.
Mohammed as well?
Well, I don’t know. Maybe I’m just placing too much faith in the Holy Bible as the Word of God? Why would I place any faith at all in the Book Of Mormon?
Well, I’m not a Mormon so I don’t care what they eat, drink or wear. Long as they aren’t lopping off heads.
As for false prophets, well, according to someone somewhere, every religious denomination is heretical. So whereever you go, there you are.
Got any Mormon Holiday songs ???
There are many fine Mormons, Catholics, Jehovah Witnesses and whatnot. I have no problem with them but I do with their theology/dogma. Truth resides in God. Truth resides in the Holy Spirit. Truth is written in The Holy Bible. And Truth can reside in us if we follow what light is given us.
Amen !
You’re kind of at odds with this whole “objecting to false prophets” thing, aren’t you?
http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/by:jedediah/index?tab=articles
Every “article” you post centers upon you acting as a prophet of the Lord.
Speaking for Him in the first person using bad poetry can’t
be reconciled any more than Joe Smith and his harem can.
YES they do apply. False prophets deceive like they are designed to do. Deception is satan’s only tool. Thus my tagline.
Jim,
I think we will all find out one day.
How well was Noah received?
Or for that matter, Jesus Christ?
Hope you have a merry Christmas.
