It's a cult
Concord Monitor ^ | October 28, 2011 | Barbara Elms

I like Mitt Romney and believe he could be a fine president under different circumstances. As a born-again Christian, I cannot vote for him. As Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of a large Baptist church in Dallas, said, Mormonism is not just another denomination; it is a cult.

Jeffress is a fine man. I have watched him on television for many years, even though I am not a Baptist.

A few years ago, I purchased books, magazines and DVDs from Lamb and Lion Ministries. Two DVDs concerned cults. The largest and most well-known is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

The Jesus of the cults is not the Jesus of our Holy Bible. Their Jesus was conceived by God who once was a man and became God by being good. This god had sex with Mary so came Jesus. God has a wife, therefore, a Mother God and Father God. They had many other children. Jesus and Lucifer are brothers.

Mormons believe if they are good enough they can become a god, and have their own planet. The Mormon church never has a cross outside, or inside, because you don't honor a murder weapon. Our Jesus gave up His life and shed His blood on the cross so that we might be saved. They take communion with bread and water; they hate the blood. Mormons don't get to go into the big Temples very often. They mainly go to be baptized for people who died years ago so that they could go to heaven. Mormons must not drink coffee or tea, and be married for life to go into the big Temple. They have three Heavens.

There are many reasons why I cannot vote for Romney. His religion is not one of them.

Who is going to decide what religion is best? You?

I can list wacky, strange, unorthodox aspects of almost every single religion. I can list dozens about that guy's including going into the closet or behind closed doors to drink.

It is foolish, pick on the man's liberal policies and flip flops, not on his religion, or pretty soon all our beliefs will be picked on and not by just the heathens of the radical left and media Communists.

Be careful for what you wish for..........

“As Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of a large Baptist church in Dallas, said, Mormonism is not just another denomination; it is a cult.”

I think Jefress is kind of loony, but not for what he said about the LDS. I wouldn’t have used “cult” because I don’t think it applies today to the LDS how the word is usually used, but whatever. He was smeared by the media. Former drug zsar Bennett made a big deal about it. Jeffress also said he would vote for Romney if he unfortunately gets the nomination.

Do all mormans wear them, or just their Special Elite?
____________________________________________

When the Mormons pay 10% of their income, go to the Mormnon meetings enough and are interviewed and vetted by the mormon bishop, they recieve a “temple recommend “ which is good for only one year...

They then are allowed to go to the mormon temple where they take off all their clothes put on a gown with slits in the sides and then they are washed all over their bodies with watewr...an old man for the men and an old woman for the women...the “temple worker” puts his or her hands in through the slits..

(they used to have their private areas wahed too but i think they changed that)

Then they have oil rubbed all over them and then the “temple worker” helps the naked man or woman to put on the magic under pants and undershirt...

Then they are dressed in the “temple clothes” and listen to live plays and videos about Adam and Eve and how evil Christian pastors are...

and thats about the gist of “going through the temple”

Apparantly some people have had their eyes opened to the phoniness and evilo of mormonism by the ghastly experience of which they were not warned or told before hand...(its a “sacred secret”)and they eventually left the cult...

Others just lied about their misgivings and blamed themselves for the creepiness they felt...They agreed that the whole thing was “spiritual and uplifting and special” knowing all the time as they spoke it was one big sham to make money...

Aftert that they have to wear their itched hot magic undies at all times

and one of the “temple recommend” questions from then on is “Do you wear your magic undies” ???

Women havew to wear their undies under a bra..(Like wearing a TShirt under A bra...

Since the top has eblbow length sleeves a brade has to wear a dress that has longish sleeves...

About Mormon brides married “in the Temple” ...they have to wear they long ugly temple clothes OVER their bridal dress...

One so obviously enlightened as yourself would vote without a second thought for an avid member of Messianic Judaism who proclaims his superiority as a Jew. And I'm sure you would proclaim your open-minded and self-righteous message to all other American Jews everywhere you could find them.

Shalom.

Yes, Romney’s views are whatever he deems has the best chance of getting him elected. If he somehow became convinced that an outright liberal political platform virtually identical to Obama’s gave him the best chance, then that’s what he’d campaign on. No substance.

Why do you give a .*.. about Romney’s underwear? What kind of perverts are you people?

* Edited for decencys sake
_______________________________________

Are you aware that every year Romneys bishop asdks him if he wears his underwear ???

When you have attacked the mormon bishops for not only asking the Mormon men about their underwear by also unmarried mormon girls about theirs then come back here and discuss it with us in these threads...

Dont forget to tell the mormon bishops that they are perverts...

and feel free to repeat your choice word or two...

BTW So you dont have to ask them “What kind of perverts are you people?”

They are Mormon perverts..

That’s funny. I’d have difficulty voting for a Catholic. Hard to imagine having a president who believes all that Communion nonsense.

I didn’t make my post with a self-righteous attitude. It hurts when you find that someone disagrees with your opinion, doesn’t it? Perhaps you should look into your own expressions of your faith and you will find the answer you seek. Your need to scream tells me that you do not feel secure in your faith.

Not a sound argument. Why should we have to assume that all religions are equally good, effective, useful, etc.?

I don't assume that. As it happens, my religion is very nearly the perfect truth, which makes it slightly better than most other branches of Christianity, much better than several other religions, and incomparably better than a couple of alleged religions that disgust me. Neither my faith nor Mitt's would be relevant to Mitt's campaign. Romney would, regardless of faith, be a terrible, horrible, awful president, only slightly better than Pelosi. It's his political views, not his faith that should doom his candidacy.

I do not think it is a positive for conservatism to focus on LDS church quirks. The media are playing this game, focusing on Mitt's faith, to make us look bad to moderates, just as they ignored Obama's much stranger faith to avoid making him look bad. We should focus on real issues, which are deadly to Mitt, rather than allowing them to sidetrack us.

We vote for elected officials in a secular government. We are not voting for pastor in chief, we are voting for commander in chief in the presidential election.

Didn’t we cast aside religious discussions about political candidates after JFK was elected in 1960?

Did anyone talk about Mitt’s dad, George Romney, and Mormonism, when he was a candidate for president in the 1968 primaries?

Did anyone talk about Joe Lieberman being Jewish when he was Al Gore’s running mate in 2000?

And the liberals put the word out in 2008 that we weren’t supposed to talk about Jeremiah Wright and Obama attending that strange church.

If everybody decides that they won’t vote for people outside their religion, who could run for office? Evangelicals are about 26% of the population of the U.S. Catholics are about 25%. Jewish are about 3%. Various other Protestant groups are about 25%. About 18% of America claim no religious affiliation at all.
