Tricia Erickson: 'An indoctrinated Mormon should never be elected as President'
CNN ^ | July 7th, 2011 | Jay Kernis

Posted on 07/08/2011 9:15:31 AM PDT by delacoert

Are you of the opinion that a Mormon should never be elected President?

Yes, it is my opinion that an indoctrinated Mormon should never be elected as President of the United States of America. Indoctrinated temple Mormons (as Romney is) have experienced years of brainwashing and indoctrination and also have made covenants and oaths that they plainly cannot disobey.

Mitt Romney and all temple Mormons have sworn to obey The Law of Consecrationin the secret temple ceremonies which states "You and each of you covenant and promise before God, angels, and these witnesses at the altar, the you do accept the Law of Consecration as contained in The Doctrine and Covenants (a Mormon book), in that you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents, an everything with which the Lord has bless you, or with which he may bless you, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon Church), for the building up of the Kingdom of God on earth and for the establishment of Zion."

Ex-Mormon Ed Decker  reveals the penalty for disobedience that was made by Mitt Romney (and all temple Mormons) at the time he took out his temple endowments: The "execution of the penalty" for disobedience was demonstrated "by placing the thumb under the left ear, the palm of the hand down, and by drawing the thumb quickly across the throat to the right ear, and dropping the hand to the side."

How would you construe #119?

- - - - - -
I saw it as a little joke between two friends. Both are members of the Flying Inmans here on FR and they all tend to make inside jokes and references.

I suspect, Colo was teasing Els about his rep around here with some of the Mormon apologists.

I was a teenager when I converted and a young adult when I left and it was still difficult. Typical of most cults, knowledge is given a bit at a time. The LDS refer to this as ‘line upon line, precept upon precept’. It is part of the brainwashing and this slow feeding along with the covering up and whitewashing of their history means many LDS don’t really know much beyond what is taught in thier Sunday school classes. In that way, the internet has been invaluable in order to get the truth to the LDS and has led to a large number of people leaving Mormonism every year.

The other thing they do, is the LDS is very good at coming up with pat answers to any objections and couple this with a constant persecution syndrome and repetitive teaching that anyone who says anything slightly critical of Mormonism is an ‘anti’ who is lying, exaggerating, taking things out of context, or in it for the money. Finally, they are not encouraged to think for themselves, but rather trust what their leaders and Mormon apologist say on face value without examining it for themselves, the same way they dismiss anything an ‘anti’ might say.

When I started questioning what I was being told, and researching in an attempt to prove the ‘anti’s’ wrong, I was warned over and over again against ‘thinking myself out of the church’, and there is a lot of pressure on that front.

Well, while I am Christian and religious, I just have a different (much less active) role for Satan than you do, but I believe we are on the same page.

I believe that it is all pretty much left up to us to decide “right” or “wrong”. If there is too much outside influence (i.e. God, Satan) then we are merely pawns and not particularly responsible for our actions.

I guess this is the long way of saying ... I agree that Obama v. Romney = same result. =)

As a belever. I find it curious that you give Satan a less aagressive role than I do. In view of how everything is going against our God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and when we are witnessing each day growing evil in our land, don’t you think that Satan knows his timeis growing short? That he will not let go of his momentum? If he suceeds Our wondrous triune iod will be eclipsed by political means. Right and wrong were based upon Tod’s word. They teach there is no right or wrong. It would seem that Satan is nerly there!

Only consider this: Muslims outgrew Mormonism a long time ago in the U.S. and the U.S. growth is stagnant. As I thought before, I can see their church declining out of existence with the variables currently in play.

Changing definitions is what the LDS do.

Elohim is not God’s personal name. Try again.

1 Tim is about CHRIST, not God the Father. God the Father, and Jesus Christ are both ETERNAL.

***

Oh stop with this charade a father is a father and the son is a son and a ghost is a ghost stop changing the meaning of words....

The God of Abraham is Jehovah aka Jesus Christ not God the Father.

In John Jesus says if you seen me you seem the Father they look a like.

You can not see a spirit but you can see a body of flesh and bones.

John 8:38

38 I speak that which I have seen WITH my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

enough of this foolishness

What about following the Constitution and honoring the oath of office?

- - - - - -

Well when Romney took out his endowments (rite necessary for exaltation [salvation] in Mormonism) in the Mormon temple they still had blood oaths. This current oath still stands, doesn’t say anything about following the constitution. In fact, it specifically puts the LDS church first. Now, was Romney a liar when he took this oath, or is he a covenant breaker?

FROM MORMON TEMPLE CEREMONY

PETER: “All arise. (All patrons stand.) Each of you make the sign of the First Token of the Melchizedek Priesthood or Sign of the Nail by brining the left hand in front of you with the hand in cupping shape, the left arm forming a square; also by bringing the right hand is also brought forward, the palm down, the fingers close together, the thumb extended, and by placing the thumb over the left hip. This is the sign.”

“Now repeat in your mind after me the words of the covenant, at the same time representing the Execution of the Penalty:”

“I solemnly covenant in the name of the Son that I will never reveal the First Token of the Melchizedek Priesthood or Sign of the Nail, with its accompanying name, and sign and penalty. Rather than do so, I would suffer my life to be taken.”

(Patrons perform the action as the Officiator guides them.)

“That will do.” (All patrons sit down.)

Also, all Mormon Temple Patrons today still make an oath to sacrifice their lives and all they posses for the church:

TEMPLE NARRATOR: (All patrons stand.) “And as Jesus Christ has laid down his life for the redemption of mankind, so we should covenant to sacrifice all that we possess, even our own lives if necessary, in sustaining and defending the Kingdom of God.”

“All arise. Each of you bring your right arm to the square. You and each of you solemnly covenant and promise before God, angels, and these witnesses at this alter that you will observe and keep the Law of Sacrifice, as contained in the Old and New Testament, as it has been explained to you. Each of you bow your head and say “yes.””

TEMPLE PATRONS: “Yes.”

ELOHIM: “That will do.” (All patrons sit down.)

TEMPLE NARRATOR: (All patrons stand.) “Each of you bring your right arm to the square. You and each of you covenant and promise before God, angels, and these witnesses at this altar, that you do accept the Law of Consecration as contained in this, (The Officiator holds up a copy of the Doctrine and Covenants again.), the Book of Doctrine and Covenants, in that you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents, and everything with which the Lord has blessed you, or with which he may bless you, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for the building up of the Kingdom of God on the earth and for the establishment of Zion.”

enough of this foolishness

I agree enough with the foolishness that God the Father has a body of flesh and bones. To claim He does is heresy and unbiblical.

“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24

Luke 24:39

See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. (Col 1:15)

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Timothy 1:17)
...who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. (1 Timothy 6:15-16)
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. (Hebrews 11:27)
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. (John 1:18)

And God the Father never appears in physical form.
