Written by a local ex-Mormon Christian friend of mine:
This is the Christ of Mormonism:
1. He lives as a humanoid god on a star near Kolob along with his father god, bound by the physical world; he does not transcend the material.
2. He is the brother of satan.
3. He had to earn his own salvation while he was on earth.
4. He offers his grace only to those who work hard enough.
5. He is not from everlasting to everlasting, but was created a finite time ago by his father god, who in turn was also created by his own father god, who in turn was created by his own father god, so on and so forth
6. He is not the greatest being possible.
7. He is finite.
8. His blood is not powerful enough to wipe away any sin.
9. He aided his father in creating earth by organizing already existing matter; he is not capable of creating things out of nothing.
10. He must submit to a moral law that existed before he did.
11. You can one day become just like him.
This is the Christ of the Bible:
1. He is a spirit being that transcends space and time.
2. He is the brother of no creature; He is God, from everlasting to everlasting. No one can claim kinship with Him except those He purchased for Himself on the cross. And He is not the same type of creature they are. He is not a creature, He is God.
3. Jesus is the Author of Salvation; to say that He needed to earn His salvation is absurdity.
4. He offers His sovereign grace to whomever He sovereignly chooses; we are all tainted by sin and vile in His holy eyes. Therefore, no one is more worthy than any other human being. Thus, His grace that He offers is given unconditionally. His grace is true grace, a beautiful gift.
5. He is from everlasting to everlasting. He was never created, and Has been in relationship with the Father and the Holy Spirit forever.
6. He is the greatest being possible, the Most High God. There is no one like Him and there is no one who will ever be anything like Him.
7. He is infinite, both in essence and in His divine perfections.
8. His blood is powerful enough to wipe away any sin, regardless of heinousness and duration. The only sin that cannot be forgive is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost; and this is not because the blood of Christ is not powerful enough to wash it away, but because God has so sovereignly decreed that all persons who blaspheme the Holy Ghost should not receive forgiveness.
9. He created everything that exists out of nothing by the mere word of His mouth.
10. There is no external law that He submits to; He is the Author and the Source of the Law.
11. No one can ever come near to obtaining the glory and excellency of Christ.
Then why does each and every FR MORMON consider quotes from their OWN SOURCES to be an attack?
Let US make man in OUR image?
This is true.
The problem is that MORMONism's 'christ' is a false one: just like the BIBLE warned against.
Take your two demonic 'personages' outta here.
No WONDER they wanted to stone Jesus after He declared, "If you've seen me; you've seen the Father."
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
Youare still making G-d out to be a liar because he says he is One, NO FORM, No other savior, no other Rock, etc....Then just who is the US in Genesis?
Let US make man in OUR image?

President Brigham Young taught the Latter-day Saints to worship God the Father and address prayers to Him in the name of Jesus Christ. He taught further that God the Father was once a man on another planet who “passed the ordeals we are now passing through; he has received an experience, has suffered and enjoyed, and knows all that we know regarding the toils, sufferings, life and death of this mortality” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Brigham Young, 1997, p. 29).
This is the way our Heavenly Father became God. Joseph Smith taught: “It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the character of God. . . . He was once a man like us; . . . God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did” (Gospel Principles, 1997, p. 305).
God Himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens! That is the great secret. . . . (Teachings of the Presidents: Joseph Smith, 2007, p. 221).
1968 here...
I think the converted mormons who do works in these threads to earn brownie points are recent to mormonism...
The milky film on their keyboards shows that...
How come you never post a rebuttal to article and discuss the issues from your perspective?
It would be refreshing, interesting and we would all surely learn something.
Sheesh. You people. Have you not heard of the royal "we"? From wiki...The majestic plural (pluralis maiestatis/majestatis in Latin) is the use of a plural pronoun to refer to a single person holding a high office....
To take that verse and try to establish doctrine is a violation of hermeneutical principals. One uses clear passages to shed light on the not-so-clear. Otherwise, using YOUR logic, the us could be 4, 5, 5,000...why stop at 3?
I just posted #293, showing about 30 verses where G-d clearly states His Oneness, His solitude, Singularity. And you want to make doctrine off one verse?
You need to look here. You are being misled as is obvious by your worn out propaganda.
Heres a few links to get your started from a different viewpoint. I have found that the vast majority of the issues brought up in the anti-Mormon propaganda can be found and addressed at http://www.fairlds.org/ but heres more:

You don’t really expect me to believe that the gang of anti-Mormon propagandists here have any interest in discussing anything do you?
You want to know my perspective? Please visit the links I have provided. The chance of the spirit witnessing something to you as truth would be multitudes better than where anti-Mormons swarm and attack at every turn.
You will find it “refreshing, interesting and we would all surely learn something”.
Comeon.
I’m not any more anti Mormon than I am anti Jew, Catholic, Methodist, etc.
LDS doesn’t exist without being the restored church, I get it, really.
But we have to do all our research, on our own to learn anything and you just sit back telling us were wrong without any sort rebuttal related to subject.
BTW, the only religion I am against is Islam. No point in being nice about it.
A second major personality comes through in the Old Testament...referenced as Ruach Hakodesh
(See Gen. 1:2; Job 26:13; Ps. 51:13; Ps. 139:7; Is. 11:2).
For those who might think this to be a mere divine emanation reflective of G-d's influence, Ruach Hakodesh displays intellect, emotion, and will. (For example, the Holy Spirit is grieved in Is. 63:10).
We see this TriUNITY in places like Isaiah 63:7-14...where the Spirit is referenced in vv. 10-11, 14...and the Lord YHWH in v. 7; and the Messenger of YHWH in v. 9.
What's quite intereating about this passage is that throughout the Old Testament God references Himself -- and Himself alone as being the One solely responsible for Israel's redemption from Egypt. Yet, all three personalities are accorded credit in tis passage...including this Angel of His Presence who "redeemed" them (Is. 63:9).
Hence, you have a Redeemer sent by the LRD!
No, you are actually making G-d about to be some naked bare unsocial unity from eternity!
Go back before people were created. Go back before angels were created.
What? Your God just mumbled to Himself -- like the God of Islam?
No social love from one personality to another like the Christian God?
Don't tell us you have a God of love who had no one to love and therefore NEEDED angels and people! The true God had no such need. He was perfect & complete in Himself!
Yet He is more ONE (unified) than He is Tri.
Only a Great Being could be One, yet be a compound Unity.
Of course, there is no "Other" because the three are one. You keep insisting they are another; I tell you the Divine One is three. If you see vapor ascending from the water, they are both one. Yet the water embodied in the pool is not in vapor form.
Likewise the invisibility of the Father is still our Savior -- see Ps. 106:21; Ps. 45:21-23; Is. 43:3. Yet Yeshua the embodied Messiah, as foretold by the Old Testament, is also our Savior (John 4:42; 1 John 4:14; Acts 20:28; Acts 4:12).
The invisibility of the Father is still our Rock -- see Isaiah 17:10; 2 Sam. 22:32; Deut. 32:4. Yet the New Testament identifies that Rock in the Old Testament as Jesus! See 1 Cor. 10:4; 1 Peter 2:6-8 in conjunction with Numbers 20:12!!!
You see, Proverbs 30:4 asks the question: What is his name, and what is the name of his son? Surely you know!
Well, the New Testament revelation of G-d was unveiled to reveal the answer to that question! Yeshua!
