The Christ of Mormonism (Real Mormonism)
Mormon Coffee (Mormonism Research Ministry) ^ | March 14, 2011 | Aaron Shafovaloff

Posted on 03/25/2011 9:19:12 AM PDT by Colofornian

Written by a local ex-Mormon Christian friend of mine: —

This is the Christ of Mormonism:

1. He lives as a humanoid god on a star near Kolob along with his father god, bound by the physical world; he does not transcend the material.

2. He is the brother of satan.

3. He had to earn his own salvation while he was on earth.

4. He offers his “grace” only to those who work hard enough.

5. He is not from everlasting to everlasting, but was created a finite time ago by his father god, who in turn was also created by his own father god, who in turn was created by his own father god, so on and so forth

6. He is not the greatest being possible.

7. He is finite.

8. His blood is not powerful enough to wipe away any sin.

9. He aided his father in creating earth by organizing already existing matter; he is not capable of creating things out of nothing.

10. He must submit to a moral law that existed before he did.

11. You can one day become just like him.

This is the Christ of the Bible:

1. He is a spirit being that transcends space and time.

2. He is the brother of no creature; He is God, from everlasting to everlasting. No one can claim kinship with Him except those He purchased for Himself on the cross. And He is not the same type of creature they are. He is not a creature, He is God.

3. Jesus is the Author of Salvation; to say that He needed to earn His salvation is absurdity.

4. He offers His sovereign grace to whomever He sovereignly chooses; we are all tainted by sin and vile in His holy eyes. Therefore, no one is more worthy than any other human being. Thus, His grace that He offers is given unconditionally. His grace is true grace, a beautiful gift.

5. He is from everlasting to everlasting. He was never created, and Has been in relationship with the Father and the Holy Spirit forever.

6. He is the greatest being possible, the Most High God. There is no one like Him and there is no one who will ever be anything like Him.

7. He is infinite, both in essence and in His divine perfections.

8. His blood is powerful enough to wipe away any sin, regardless of heinousness and duration. The only sin that cannot be forgive is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost; and this is not because the blood of Christ is not powerful enough to wash it away, but because God has so sovereignly decreed that all persons who blaspheme the Holy Ghost should not receive forgiveness.

9. He created everything that exists out of nothing by the mere word of His mouth.

10. There is no external law that He submits to; He is the Author and the Source of the Law.

11. No one can ever come near to obtaining the glory and excellency of Christ.

"I asked if there was a SINGLE example of Mormons attacking Christians on FR and you refer me to Google?"

He referred you to the search function on FREEREPUBLIC.

Conservatives don't spoon feed people. We like you to develop personal conviction and discipline and self-effort.

... that precludes whining too.

"You abuse a religion and fellow FR conservatives when you repeatedly attack what they hold dear RATHER than offer them what you hold dear."

You call shining the light on the mormon, cultic heresy "abuse". Next, it will probably be "hate"

Thankfully, the APOSTLE PAUL, had no problems calling a spade a spade...

"And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. 2 Corinthians 11:11-13

Nor did he care if others approved of his actions...

"On the contrary, we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts. You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed--God is our witness. We were not looking for praise from men, not from you or anyone else. 1Th 2:4-6c

"Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. Gal 1:10

I don’t OWE you squat and you don’t have the wherewithal to make me “Put up or shut up.” My posting history is available for the “Put up” part.

I told you I could give you hundreds of examples, not just a “single” one and then I even gave you a search hint. If that is not sufficient for you, then I can only surmise that you are attempting to do nothing but question my character and integrity.

I pointed you to the FreeRepublic SEARCH function. Use it if you’re inclined. Here’s the hint again; “joseph smith apostle”.

There are many ASSUMPTIONS being made in your post, you don’t know HALF of what you think you may know about me sport. My personal convictions about mormonISM have been posted on FR too many times to count and I’ve backed everyone of them up.

You? Nothing yet, that I’ve seen.

Not voices, the Word of God. Read the Bible.

However if I did hear a voice, all I have to do is judge it against the Word of God to find it either true or false.
True or false - everything judged against the Word of God.
lds judged against the Word of God - fails.

The belief that David went to Hell forever is not part of Christianity.

What? That's a new one. Every day a new blasphemy.

Do a search in the freerepublic search engine under mormon, lds, and paragon defender.............every single one is an example of mormonISM attacking Christianity.
By its very nature mormonISM is an attack on Christianity and Christians.
I know that is not a SINGLE example, I sure hope hundreds are OK.

Mormonism existence is an attack on Christianity. It's entire doctrine is an attack on Christianity.

I think for anyone who truly loves and respects Christ, that is more than enough reason to counter their work.

Could you PLEASE post one as an example? The ones I see promote their religion but do not attack anyone else's religion.

It's real simple.

Eloah is the singular; Elohim is the plural (see, for example, Gen. 1:26; Gen. 3:22; Gen. 11:7; Isaiah 6:8..."us"..."our"..."us"..."us"..."us." Those the Lord utilized to construct the OT could have stuck to the singular -- Eloah. But actually only used it about 250 times, whereas Elohim is utilized about 10x that amount -- about 2500 times.

Elohim is a plurality within a unity.

If you only knew Hebrew, you'd also see plural adjectives...Ecc. 12:1 is rendered creator...but literally it's creators. Ps. 149:2 is rendered maker...but literally it's makers. Same with Is. 54:5.

In Hebrew, echad (the word for "one") is a compound unity. Example: 2 sticks become one (echad) in Eze. 37:17. To hear Blasater tell it, 2 sticks can't become one. A male and female can't become one in marriage. To hear him tell it, "oneness" can't be a corporate unity.

You see, if the Jews wanted to describe absolute unity, then the word "yachid" would kick in.

Note, too, that the Messenger (Angel) of the Lord spoken of in Exodus 23:20-23 has the ability to pardon sin ("pardon your transgressions"). When someone sins vs. us, we can forgive them; but if we're the third party, that's something only God can do.

Ok. Just a few.
lds teach that jesus was created
The Bible teaches that Jesus is Eternal
IE the lds teaching are a blaspheme against God
lds teach that god progressed to godhood
The Bible teaches that God is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
IE the lds teachings are attacking and distorting Biblical Truth
lds teach that there is marriage in the celestial kingdon (heaven, one level at least)
The Bible teaches there is no marriage in Heaven
lds teach that jesus is not sufficient IE must work for salvation
The Bible teaches that Jesus is suffecient.

So you consider doctrinal disputes an attack?

Has any Mormon insulted one of your prophets or disparaged the Pope? Or have they simply posted what they believe in? Almost everyone on Earth disgrees with what you and I believe, but that doesn't constitute an attack, just a debate.

Are you prepared then to call them heretics?

If anyone divides the singular G-d into 3 personages or 10, yes, I would call them heretical.

A true Kabbalist is not doing that. The 10 Sephirot are attributes not persons or divisions of G-d.

That is why amongst Judaism, study of Kabbalah is recommended only after the age of 40 and that assumes a person has studied Torah already since childhood.

And what is it that you believe EZ?

You are quick with the “put up and shut up”, with asking folks to express what they hold dear.

So what is it you stand for, what do you hold dear?

What can you “put up” so we know why you have the position that you do?

You are new to this dance and we know little to nothing about you, yet you seemed rather bold to take us to task for reason we are unclear of in their totality, So perhaps further explanation of your perspective would be in order...

So you consider doctrinal disputes an attack?

well noob, the mormons do every time they are engaged here. We consider it an attack when they claim to be the only true Christianity.

But then, mormons have issued attacks here. One particular instance is where they chose to call Christians here 'pigs' and were going to 'hose us down'. But don't let that stop you tread - though you may want to tread lightly in making your claims.
