HINDUS HAVE applauded Pope Benedict for including verse from ancient Hindu scripture Upanishads in the Good Friday Meditations and Prayers led by him at Roman Colosseum.
Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that it was a remarkable gesture from Pope and invited him to study more ancient Hindu scriptures, which were very rich in philosophical thought. He or other Hindu scholars would gladly provide the help and resources in this regard, if asked, Zed added.
Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, also commended His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI for inclusion of a verse from Indias Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagores Gitanjali and reference to peace icon Mahatma Gandhi in these prayers.
This years 'Way of the Cross at the Colesseum' Meditations and Prayers on Good Friday, led by Pope, included well-known verse from Brahadaranyakopanishad (Lead me from the unreal to the real, from darkness to light, from death to immortality), line from Tagores Gitanjali (Give me the strength to make my love fruitful in service) and reference to Mahatma Gandhi.
Rajan Zed stressed that all religions should work together for a just and peaceful world. Dialogue would bring us mutual enrichment, he added.
Pope Benedict heads the Roman Catholic Church, which is the largest of the Christian denominations. Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about one billion adherents and moksha (liberation) is its ultimate goal.
Forcing me to ping the moderator again - forum violations you understand.
I've already accepted Christ, thanks. I'm doing HIS work -- not some man made hierarchy's work.
I already told you, can you read? Our Master is Jesus Christ and He died for us. We reject the false bound gods of hate. Will your Master like your report? you too can accept the God of love, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Our Lord, the Father, Son (Jesus Christ) and Holy Spirit.
Cool — so why does your group worship Satan?
Apparently english might be a problem. I’ve already told you I serve Christ. Others serve the Vatican more than Christ. That will be something THEY will have to answer for on judgment day.
Really? so why does your group worship Satan?
“And look at all the people who died yesterday who thought they were Christians and likely went to hell because they were taught and believed false, hell damning doctrine...”
Thankfully God will do the judging. Because of this, people in error, espcially those following raving lunatics like Jean Calvin...may be shown Mercy.
The truth is indeed elusive to many here. But the rules are that they are allowed to post lies and we are not allowed to state they ae liars for doing so. We can say the stuff is lies. But we must yield that honest, charitable, kindly, above reproach, pillars of integrity, lions of veracity and all virtue do fall into the perfectly innocent habit of posting malicious falsehoods and do so out of the innate goodness of their hearts.
At least that is what I believe the dynamics of the RF forums to be.
Truly the RF motto should be Veritas Morte.
well, I don’t blame the RM — he/she does the best job they can do. But the inconsistency appears when we let some concessions like posting lies in posts etc. Besides some threads are just ugly and disgusting.
And just because you post lies does not make you a liar. Now the choice that C.S. Lewis gave when arguing the divinity of Christ was that Christ was either Lord, lunatic or liar. Let us use the same choice for those who post lies in RF. Certainly you can not be liars, moderators tell us that this is never the case. I would never call you Lord (I am sure you can understand that). This leaves only one choice left, lunatic.
That is after all the best choice as it allows the claim of innocent misconceptions to remain.
Whether by image or word, do NOT accuse another Freeper of worshiping Satan.
You assume it was a personal you rather than a collective you. Perhaps it would be wise for “you” to be clarifed so there is no confusion.
I agree, but it does not lessen my frustration.
No problem.
You’re doing an admirable, wonderful job.
And look at all the people who died yesterday who thought they were Christians and likely went to hell because they were taught and believed false, hell damning doctrine...
INDEED.
Chick.com, jesus-is-lord.com and jesus-is-savior.com are banned from Free Republic because they monger hatred through images which suggest that the Pope is in cahoots with Satan.
Do you think for one minute that I would allow you to do to the Protestants by posting images what I will not allow them to do by posting a link?
If you believe all Protestants are Satanic or a particular belief is Satanic, then say so. If you have excerpts from your Holy writ that claims they are, then it is allowed on "open" Religion Forum threads.
But do not accuse Freepers individually of being Satanic.
And do not post Satanic images.
That said, if the claim is repeated over and again it would be making the thread "about" you and that would be "making it personal."
