Turkey: 'Seventh Church' of the Apocalypse is Found "Church in Laodicea" has been located with underground radar signals -- The structure is in its basic and original state.
Ankara (kath.net/KAP) Archeologists have found the so-called "Seventh Church of Asia" from the biblical testimony of St. John. Turkish Minister of Culture, Ertugrul Gunay said for the Turkish press service [Tuesday] upon a visit to the excavation.
The antique city Ladoicea [Laodikeia on Lykos today's Cürüksu Cayi] in the city of Phrygia mentioned in the cryptic Apocalypse at the end of the New Testament mentioned as the place of the seventh Christian church [Apocalyse: 3,14-22]. Each of the seven churches [kath.net says 'communities'] - Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamon, Thyatira, Sardes, Philadelphia and Laodicea -- thus contains an epistle to the baptized.

I think you may be exactly right. Something seems to have been set in motion over that last few years and its only coming at us faster and faster. Each morning you can read the front pages and discover all sorts of signs that something is happening.
They each kept a copy of their respective epistles physically in their catacomb? Also if Laodicea was so lukewarm, noncommittal, or whatever, I wonder why they even took the trouble to keep their meetings (physically) underground. Nobody in their society would have opposed such a compromised congregation.
Well that’s the funny thing about news — it’s new. Don’t hang your immediate spiritual plans around any piece of earthly news, because odds are it will become an old piece of history and something else will occupy the eyes of humanity. Ghastlier things have taken place in the past than what we see now. What’s faster and faster is the modern capability of gathering and dispersing reports. There is enough data generated in a day of news today to occupy a reader for years.
Just the same, I believe it’s foretold in the book of Daniel that people will “rush to and fro” seeking after wisdom. Of course they won’t get wisdom, because all they will get is data, data, and more data without any framework to comprehend its meaning.
This could be hugh! If there are more ancient manuscripts buried on site.
Even though we have a huge number of them already, there are a number of patristic and biblical texts which would be good to recover from the ravages of time.
Possibly, maybe not, but I lean towards the understanding that while this may not be prophecy, so to speak, it may be a subtle warning to reexamine our own lives to ensure that we don’t end up like this Church.
More of a gentle rebuke than a prophecy.
Not sure about this. I did a tour of the 7 churches including Laodicea in 1999 and was shown a building thought to be the church, complete with the fish symbol, not far from the amphitheater. It’s off the normal tour path. We also visited Colossae, which wasn’t even excavated except for the theater. Farms on the top of hill covering the ruins used Roman stones with carved text for their property boundaries.
