Evangelical book catalogs promote books such as Planet Earth: The Final Chapter, The Great Escape, and the Left Behind series. Bumper stickers warn us that the vehicles occupants may disappear at any moment. It is clear that there is a preoccupation with the idea of a secret rapture. Perhaps this has become more pronounced recently due to the expectation of a new millennium and the fears regarding potential Y2K problems. Perhaps psychologically people are especially receptive to the idea of an imminent, secret rapture at the present time. Additionally, many Christians are not aware that any other position relative to the second coming of Jesus Christ exists. Even in Reformed circles there are numerous people reading these books. Many of these people are unaware that this viewpoint conflicts with Scripture and Reformed Theology.

WONDERFUL VERSES.
MUCH APPRECIATED.
Based on past posting history.....
based on past history, someone will demand that I apologize
“Which big name politicians are it who are the BIG abortion supporters that allow places like PP to operate legally in this country?
Could it be Pelosi? Kennedy? Kerry? Biden? Cantwell? Gillibrand? Schumer? ....
“Hitting a little close to home?”
Must be hitting a little close to home for you to solicit such a reply... instead of an answer....
Hoss
Catholic politicians are responsible in large part for abortion being legal in this country.
Liberal, Democratic voting Catholic laity are responsible in large part for abortion being legal in this country.
I’m sorry that the truth hurts.
Absolutely; that might be why you got the response you did instead of the answer you should have received.
:D
Hoss
Is that a good enough apology?
There’s always “youse”. :o)
Thank you for your post! For some reason, there are many people who will ignore these verses in favor of pieces of others that they claim cancel out the words of Jesus himself. They do this because I believe they prefer to trust in their own goodness and deeds to bring them to Heaven’s door. Sadly, they refuse to acknowledge that door remains closed to anyone who does not place their trust in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation. Trusting in Christ means NOT trusting in ourselves.
Being Scot-Irish, I guess it’s okay to tell this story.
A young Scotsman and lass were sitting upon the warm green grass of a dell staring dreamily up at the clouds. “A penny for your thoughts.”, she sweetly asked him.
“Oh, I was just wondering if I could kiss you.”, he answered.
“Yes, you may.” she demured.
A few moments went by and she looked up at his face to see a slight look of worry. “Another penny for your thoughts.” she said.
“Oh, well, this is much more serious.” he said.
“Well then, please tell me.” she said coyishly.
“I was wondering,” he said, “When are you going to pay me that last penny you owe me?”
lol, good one
Can’t forget the Notre Dame fiasco.
No, of course not. It's all about you.
Demand? I don't think so. I merely indicated that one should be proffered.
Catholics against PRO Life Christians and Catholics.
You are correct. I was wrong about this. Sorry Baptists, all.
I understand. However, not one of these verses supersede the Beatitudes or Matthew 25, or the Sermon on the Plain or any of the other teachings of Christ which lay conditions upon salvation. If you go back and read these verses, in context, you may discover that they pertain more to the eternal promises of God to us, and they do not address, as does Jesus, Paul, Peter, John, James, et al, that we may fall away based upon our own actions.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. - Revelation 1:8
Yes, we all believe that. But no Christian believes in frogmarching.
And some people make honest mistakes (I will apologize to all Baptists). I think that I got the Westboro Baptist Church and Tiller kinda lumped together. My error.
Produce some Catholic abortion staffers and we can further this conversation.
