I didn’t particularly care about the de-caucusing of this thread. I found reason to respond to a few posts in the thread, and since it wasn’t a caucus thread, I did so.
Yes, this thread got a lot more posts than it ever would have if it had remained a caucus thread. Which means a lot more people may have read the thread — which certainly isn’t something I thought would be a good thing.
I don’t particularly think de-caucusing was a good thing. It could have languished in obscurity as all the other threads; if the title was deemed offensive, it could have been edited, and if the thread was offensive, it could have been deleted.
Which leads me to believe that all involved are happy with this thread’s progress, although it seems odd that the response to a thread with a blasphemous title was to make it the most popular thread of the new year.

However if you put extremely loud speakers in the windows and scream your hate of other beliefs into the street passerby are going to come in and argue with you...

or if you publish in the newspapers that all Christian churches are an abomination, the readers comments are going to be indifferent to your supposed Joey Smith given right to insult the God of the Christian Bible...You WILL get much well chosen curse words..
