Chuck either we are a free people or we are not...
A caucus is like a private church...
you can sit in a church and boast about we-four-and-no-more in private...
Whose to know ???
However if you put extremely loud speakers in the windows and scream your hate of other beliefs into the street passerby are going to come in and argue with you...
well until the police arrive and send them off and tell you to keep it down...
or if you publish in the newspapers that all Christian churches are an abomination, the readers comments are going to be indifferent to your supposed Joey Smith given right to insult the God of the Christian Bible...You WILL get much well chosen curse words..
No media or form of communication in America is solely one way...
As Senator Hillary Clinton so rightly said “we have a right to debate. We will debate.” or something like that...
While you have a right to say anything in your home...
Yelling fire in a theatre when there is no fire will get you in trouble...
Telling Christians that the unbeliever and pagan Joey Smith has said Christianity is an abomination will not go unchallenged...
Chizeling in stone at an Salt Lake intersection the same bigotry and hatred does not endear the mormons to real Christians..
and demanding a caucus in order to violate the religious rights of Christians to exercise our free speech rights and practice our right to worship: and in order to protect foul blasphemeous articles that the demonic mormon Joey Smith was chosen by the LORD Jesus Christ to be one of His apostles will not go unrefuted and unchallenged..
This is the United States of America in 2011 not Brigham Youngs theocratic ditatorship in the Utah Territory in 1844-76
We dont have a state religion of mormonism like Joey Smith prophecied...
the whole world never did go after Joey Smith...
and Joey Smith never did meet Jesus and get to be His prophet or apostle...
Ive never started a caucus thread in my life...
I believe too much in the Constitution...and I like open aired bickering...
Other people have just as much right as I to worship how they please...
They just dont get to attempt to hijack Christianity and spit on my God and my Savior, the LORD Jesus Christ in front of me without my objecting strongly and in any way I can...
Mormonism is not Christianity...
Its a foul imitation and sick distortion from the lustful evil mind of Joey Smith for the sole intention of gaining women, money and abusive power over other people...
While mormons have a right to believe their LDS nonsense, they dont have a right to attempt to align their Satanic rituals with the practice of Christianity without being called out on it...
For many hundreds of posts now you have continued to complain, whine and gripe about the “de-caucusing” of a thread that did not earn the privilege of a caucus to begin with...
One has to wonder why you wont just leave it alone...especially since you have already said years ago that you personally are NOT a mormon...
but carry on ...its your keyboard...and your time...
Hillary Clinton quotes are always my favorite choice to buttress an argument in a conservative forum.
Oh yea...you took the words right out of my mouth! HAHAHAHA!
Great post..and you nailed it to the floor! Love how you tied it into our freedoms and country.... You should ping Jim on that one...well on a second thought he generally doesn’t get into the frey.
My “disagreement” is about outcomes. In my view, using your analogy, we took a thread languishing in obscurity, and hooked it up to loudspeakers so the entire site would hear.
Which I think is what was intended — for what other purpose would you put a thread in breaking news, if not to make it extremely public?
Which of course is fine, but seems at odds with those who are upset with the title as blasphemous — which seems would be better handled by deleting the thread or editing the title, than publishing it to the whole world.
It’s like taking an offensive video, and broadcasting it while complaining that nobody should have to view it.
I don’t imagine the LDS folks are all that upset with the popularity of the thread, even if they don’t like the ridicule, which they get in multiple threads on the site anyway.
I have tried to be supportive of the caucus concept, because it was a chosen framework of the site and it’s owner. As I have said before, I don’t personally take part in caucus threads, I don’t post them, and I don’t see much use for them personally, as I think everything should be discussable and debateable.
Anybody who knows me here knows I don’t back down from a debate, and am willing to defend my beliefs and opinions against all opponents. Caucus threads aren’t my style. But seeing them in action, reading the defense of them by the religion mods and those who participate in them, I decided that while they weren’t for me, they had a place, and have since defended their existance.
So it is kind of odd to find myself on the “wrong” side, when I have simply decided to accept what was the status quo.
