In Christ Alone lyrics

Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard;

In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless Babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save

?Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory Sin?s curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ

I know, you’d think people would at least read “the gospels” they are so adamant in defending, maybe you need a degree in something

The Catholic Church is the true Israel, because in her the covenants with Israel of old are fulfilled, and the new one exists.

I've been curious about this statement, annalex. I'm not sure what you mean by this. Please explain further.

"if I wanted to be mean-spirited re education, but I dont, I would relate how in the college that I went to, the engineers were so dense, they had to have special english comprehensive courses especially for them, the original head start."

That sure wasn't the case at Santa Clara.

A Jesuit School education should, if nothing else, teach one to be "imaginative" in the use of language.

In any event there is no reason to believe a word you say concerning your education.

Amazing how I can do that, be attentive to my extended family, work 60+ hours per week, run 10-15 miles a week, coordinate the Altar Server program in my Parish and still find time to be active in the local Tea Party. Maybe only needing 4 hours of sleep per day helps......

The Lord only knows. Maybe an overactive imagination helps? Maybe having a Paranoid Delusional Disorder helps? Who knows.

I do wonder what the benefit of bragging on a public forum is.

"Why don't you show the truth?"

I do not contest that the Church includes prayers for the Salvation of the Jews in its Easter Mass or that a bunch of whiny rabbi's are upset by it. I disagree with the conclusion that the Church is doing it out of an intent to injure or harm anyone. It is an act of love.

How many different types of lies are there?

Two. Ones you get away with, and ones you get caught telling.

Just saying. While you are blowing your own horn the other end can be used as a funnel.

I would have expected Reggie to have had the education to get this, but no matter.

http://undergod.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=69 has the timeline for state sponsored religion for the colonies:

Most of these were varieties of Calvinist religions. If you wish, please go and take a look. I'm sorry that your education is as sorry as it is. I didn't get this from any Catholic school. Where I come from, this, along with many other elementary facts, is a matter of fact education. I'm surprised that you guys learned how to sign your names, with this level of knowledge.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_religion_in_the_United_States, although I hate to admit it, touches somewhat accurately on this subject. Who do you guys think that Cotton Mather represented? The local homeboys?

In the meanwhile you are acting as a poor example of a truly professional

Well, when you overestimate your opponent, it is easy to be seen in that light.

This is basic Christianity 101, Mark.

The Lord has granted that I am still Christian. I guess that He has not granted that to the Reformed.

While we are still human and not God, and while we still sin because our sin nature is never completely eradicated by our sanctification, yet we are ACQUITTED OF OUR SINS BY GOD WHO ACCEPTS CHRIST AS PAYMENT FOR OUR SINS.

You cannot pull this fast one on us. You have claimed that you are written personally in the book of Life from before the creation of the universe. Now you are saying that your salvation is of your own doing. What is it? You cannot have it both ways.

Read the Bible, Mark. It's all there.

I know it is. Thank God we Catholics do not have a redacted and abridged Bible.

If, or when, an Inquisition convenes in the United States, it will employ methods of our (supposedly enlightened) time. Then, if guilt is found, the faaithless Catholic will be publicly excommunicated, and will no longer able to call himself Catholic yet teach against the Church. If any civil law were broken, as in case of child molestation, the District Attorney can handle it promptly and not 30 years after the fact based on accusations that cannot be proven. This would be a vast improvement over the state of American Catholicism today, and I advocate it with passion.

I've got to hand it to you, there are few posters that can get me to sit for a minute and just gape in awe at their comment.

Pray tell, what on earth is stopping your church from publicly excommunicating the faithless Catholic now? Why do you need any federal authority to help you take care of your own religious business? If any person, clerical or not, is guilty of crimes against the law of the land, the "state" should already have all the power it needs to prosecute the suspect. It would help, of course, if people stopped hiding behind the skirts of their hierarchy, or being allowed to.

No "American Inquisition" is necessary, only the courage of your own convictions that those who claim your mantle in the public arena but go against your teachings be publicly ostracized and refused the fellowship of the church. That's how it is supposed to happen. It worked in the first century and is still the only option the Lord has given to us.

Post 567:”But killing and torture of those who did not subscribe to the particular Protestant brand of each colony were, until the federal government quelled it. Massachusetts was a particularly barbaric colony, although several others vied for its level of barbarism. Where did you guys get your education? Have you no idea of what was actually done in history or do you have the usual American glaze eyed deer in the headlights stare when it comes to actual reality? “

So.... where’s all the killing and torture? Those links don’t show the feds stepping in to stop it. How’d this get off topic to a survey of the religious preferences of the individual states or colonies?

I would have expected Reggie to have had the education to get this, but no matter.

No, no, no. Old Reggie is well aware of the "State Religion" of the colonies.

What I am waiting for is documentation of the numerous "murders" due to the State Religions.

Your "education" has apparently convinced you of the "murders" committed by these State Religions. Prove it.

"How many different types of lies are there?"

I do believe you just finessed the rules in the act of calling me a liar. Fortunately for all of us you are never right on any of your opinions and your streak is holding.

Just a note: You are entitled to talk about you, but talking about me is making it personal. Didn't Dr. E counsel you on the rules like she does to Catholics?
