A key function of temples is to perform ordinance work for our deceased ancestors. When we think of temple ordinances and the necessity to do them perfectly, without error...

“… For their salvation is necessary and essential to our salvation...they without us cannot be made perfect—neither can we without our dead be made perfect” (D&C 128:5, 15;...).

Consider the...vision of President Joseph F. Smith...:

No wonder you don't identify with historical Chritianity, Saundra! You can't even define the Trinity without misconstruing it!

What you have stated before has been deemed by historical Christianity as the heresy of modalism. It's been long condemned by the Christian Church.

We don't teach that Jesus is the Heavenly Father or that Jesus is the Holy Ghost. You are (again) misrepresenting Christian interpretation of the Bible.

Surely, you've seen a three-leafed clover, Saundra. One leaf is not the next leaf. But they are 3-in-1.

You have portrayed what we believe as God acting in one mode (heaven), and then another mode (as God's son) and then another mode (Holy Ghost). Fess up, Saundra, that you have rejected Christianity based upon a faulty understanding of what we believe.

When a mother carries a baby, they are temporarily 2-in-1. The mother is not the baby. The baby is not the mother. It's not a great full analogy (as analogies break down when describing God) in that they are not the same "substance" or nature -- like the Father and Jesus is.

A husband and wife are 2-in-1. The wife is not the husband; and the husband not the wife. But they are mathematically defined by Jesus as "one" (Matt. 19:6). So a couple is more "one" than God is?

What? Saundra, you just can't imagine a Father who is so intimate with His Son that they can't be defined by Himself as "one"???

The misconceptions persist. It's been this way from the beginning. So Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost are One God. Therefore, let me say it again, then by that reasoning the Jews are all “saved” because Jesus Christ (the Savior of the World) is the same as Heavenly Father of the Old Testament on which the Jews believe. The Jews also have the Holy Ghost because they believe in and accept the God of the Old Testament (Jesus Christ and/or Heavenly Father and/or the Holy Ghost).

Or did your Jesus become God the Father after He was crucified in which case He is NOT the same yesterday, today, and forever.

I’m glad that I am not confused. I believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost - one in purpose possessing different roles and functions which compliment each other. The Trinity is a man-made concept and please don’t say it’s a mystery, like the egg having a shell, the white and a yolk.

The anti Mormons are always pounding away about the Trinity and how Mormons are going to hell because we believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Since the Trinity says that Jesus Christ is the same devine being as the Father and the same as the Holy Ghost then the God of the Old Testament (on which the Jews believe) is actually Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, so therefore, the Jews are automatically saved since they believe in the God of the Old Testament and have invited Him into their hearts.

This is why I actually believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost and was baptized that way.

Whew! This was always confusing to me when I was a Baptist and a Pentecostal. Not confused now.

SD - this 'definition' of the Trinity is so ignorant I don't know where to begin except to state that what you have defined is called modalism - not Trinitarianism. This tells me you didn't learn very much (if anything at all) during your much touted stint as a so-called Christian, if you have such a screwed up view of the definition.
