A trial date has been set for September 16th in District Court in Dearborn, Michigan with four Christians charged with breach of the peace after they tried to share their Christian faith to Muslims at the June 18th International Arab festival.
As the four were taken off to jail, many in the crowd shouted "Allah Akbar" as the four were placed in handcuffs. Robert Muise of the Thomas More Law Center says there is the very strong possibility that a federal Civil Rights case will be filed on behalf of the four Christians.
Muise also says, "It's evident that the Dearborn Police Department was more interested in placating Muslims than obeying the U-S Constitution."
State Representative Tom McMillin of Rochester Hills, Michigan has called on Michigan’s Attorney General Mike Cox to investigate the arrest of the Christians, who were exercising their First Amendment rights on public property.

Born and raised in Detroit...left in 1979. When I go back and drive through town, I have to fight back tears. On the near eastside one no longer hears church bells tolling services or the hours...one hears Islamic calls to prayer.
Christians have become the “other”. Most of the city is desolated...back in the sixties political decisions were made to not confront crime...it was “racist”. Everyone who could afford it...moved.
There’s not much left.

In the Obamanation, “civil rights” are not about rights. It is now about advantage, not equality. His government will only use civil rights and hate crimes laws to give the plaintiff an advantage. Since whites, males, Christians, and straights “deserve” no advantage (in his mind), they do not get the benefit of civil rights.

Indeed. I left Chicago 4 years ago after being there about 50 years. Your 20 year scenario is optimistic.
I guess I would wonder how Christians would feel if Arabs would go into a Christian Church to give out Arab stuff. I guess I feel if it is not your festival why do you bother going or give out stuff. I am a Catholic and don’t go into Jewish places to give out Catholic literature. Also as a Catholic, I don’t go into born again conferences to give out my literature there either. I guess I am more the mind your own business type person.

If a bunch of Muslims crashed my party and began waving around Korans and “share their Muslim faith” and generally being a PITA, I’d hope they get arrested too.
And if they weren’t it wouldn’t be because I didn’t call the law.
Some communities still have laws for actions seen as a public nuisance. That seems to apply.
Freedom of speech is one thing. Freedom of harassment is another.
My family lives in Lincolnshire and Arlington Heights....why would they leave? They are very nice areas to live.

Big difference between a Christian Church (PRIVATE PLACE) and a street festival (PUBLIC PLACE). You may be a catholic, but if standing by idly by and not lifting a finger while you allow certain groups of people to just traipse down the road to hell, than Christ is not in your heart. Christians preach the WORD, not only inside a safe church, but also at a gay pride festival in California, a market in Damascus, or a Soccer field in Swaziland.

Post of the day.....I agree with you 100 percent. If some Arabs or Muslims or whatever came near me while I was attending a Catholic festival I would want them arrested immediately! I would probably say something like “Get the f out of my way or something unchristian”....just kidding probably not use the f word but the rest I would say.
