“Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not. So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.” (Luke 17:9-10)
Jesus own words shoots down any concept of merit.

Every time I see one of these crappy anecdotes I think of the movie, Gran Torino.
It reminds me of the funeral scene with the priest giving the patronizing eulogy.

Please, try to concentrate. Listen now: Catholics are not required to believe every proposition that is advanced. We can be in total disagreement with JPII on capital punishment, and remain Cathoics in good standing. No offense is committed.
Please, try to concentrate. Listen now Catholics are required to believe every proposition that is advanced by a Pope under the definition of "Infallibility".
I understand there have been very few. Can you list them to assist in our understanding of Catholic teaching?

protestants are those trying to perform these calculations using a single computera single lifetime Christ's single lifetime is more than enough to build on. He left us His Spirit and His word in order to follow Him.
the Catholic Church continues to pass its results on to every new generation to continue and build on.
Traditions handed down from generation to generation does not come close to the real deal in Christ and His written word.

"Protestants think themselves competent to interpret scripture correctly." Yet they deny Catholics the right or ability to do so and decry the Catholic practice of seeking the learned advice of the Church in that endeavor.

What a waste of time...Trying to pit your flawed reasoning and logic against the wisdom of God...
This was certainly written for clueless Catholics because no one else would ever fall for it...

When Rome returned to the Pelegian heresy it lost the essential aspect of the gospel which is God's love shown through free grace. I was not aware that this had happened. Please supply supporting evidence.

I don't see a word of “Mary Idolatry” in that excerpt you posted. Not a single syllable, in fact.

Hello SMITW :)
That whole quote of Mary totally dethrones Christ to those who believe it. All that was written there are Christ’s work in the believer, certainly not at all Mary’s. How sad she would be, after seeing all that her Son endured for mankind, were she to know people had elevated her to this position and robbed Him of His rightful place in the hearts of men.

That's outrageous. No one is denying Catholics the right or ability to interpret scripture. You give your rights away to others to interpret for you.
What does this mean? Mary's Immaculate Conception:The Church formally defined this doctrine in 1854.( Second Vatican Council, "Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation."):
"We declare, pronounce, and define that the doctrine which holds that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instant of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, was preserved free from stain of original sin, is a doctrine revealed by God and therefore to be believed firmly and constantly by all the faithful." - Ineffabilis Deus. Pope Pius IX. (bold added by me for emphasis).
Explain the Immaculate Conception OF MARY, please. How were her parents NOT part of Adam's original sin?
To: Cronos
He [Jesus] was down in that pit and there he suffered the punishment for three horrible days and nights for Adams treason... There is a new birth takes place in the very depths of the earth, when the command of God says Thats enough, loose him and let him go.I am not a fan of Copeland's personal theology...But he is far closer to the truth of the scriptures than ANY Catholic...
Can you tell us what happened when Jesus went to Hell??

Traditions handed down from generation to generation does not come close to the real deal in Christ and His written word.
Christ never told his apostles to write anything down. He did, however, command them to TEACH all nations. He made Peter the "Rock" upon which He would build His Church, gave Peter the Keys of the Kingdom and told him that WHATEVER he would bind on Earth would be bound in Heaven.
Peter passed this Apostolic authority down to his successors, the popes of the Catholic Church. "Catholic" is from the Greek for "universal".
By the way, we wouldn't even have the New Testament if the Church had not compiled the various books and determined that they, and they alone, were the inspired canon of Scripture.

The more that is known, the more I wonder just WHAT Christ’s role is in HIS OWN DEATH FOR OUR SINS< AND RESURRECTION FOR OUR SALVATION, actually means to a Catholic. It is almost as if He is relegated to a secondary role.
To: small voice in the wilderness
"You give your rights away to others to interpret for you." THAT is outrageous. Protestants are simply intolerant of anyone's personal interpretation differing from theirs. Protestants are simply intolerant of anyone taking input from the greatest minds in history when said input contradicts that of their local pastor, bible study leader, favorite televangelist, or 15th century heretic..
I do not doubt that Mary alone among women, in preparation for her role as the Mother of God, was conceived, born and lived a life completely free from sin.
