"Protestants think themselves competent to interpret scripture correctly."

Yet they deny Catholics the right or ability to do so and decry the Catholic practice of seeking the learned advice of the Church in that endeavor.

That's outrageous. No one is denying Catholics the right or ability to interpret scripture. You give your rights away to others to interpret for you.

What does this mean? Mary's Immaculate Conception:The Church formally defined this doctrine in 1854.( Second Vatican Council, "Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation."):

"We declare, pronounce, and define that the doctrine which holds that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instant of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, was preserved free from stain of original sin, is a doctrine revealed by God and therefore to be believed firmly and constantly by all the faithful." - Ineffabilis Deus. Pope Pius IX. (bold added by me for emphasis).

Explain the Immaculate Conception OF MARY, please. How were her parents NOT part of Adam's original sin?
