“Much of the formal teaching of the INSTITUTION is horrifically insulting and blasphemous to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”

Laughable. As goofy as spouting UFO cult nonsense. But I repeat myself.

But listen: feel free to tell us what we believe.

No, Louie Montfort tells us what you believe...You're telling us we shouldn't believe what Louie says...Cuz he didn't mean it...And we can't understand it...

I think he meant it...And from what I see, most Catholics think he meant it as well...

FYI the translation difficulty arose from the word “culto”. Your experts chose “worship”. If you can do better please feel free to do so.

Is it that your Vatican translators don’t know English vernacular or is it that they didn’t think “devotion”, “veneration” or the like were appropriate?

In any event your argument is with the Vatican.

OF COURSE.

Though it’s never allowed that the argument be the fault of the Vatican. By the jello dictionary daffynition, the Vatican is never wrong. Kind of the opposite of the reality most folks have to face. Of course.

Nope. Since I know the TRUTH and I know that the Church teaches that TRUTH, I have no trouble with the poor translation. That you do is your sad issue.

In other words; don't confuse me with troublesome facts...My mind is already made up...

Clearly you cannot understand even simple English, since time and again you get told the same thing and you deny that, what we believe, how we worship actually fits OUR meaning of these words. YOU choose to misconstrue what we believe and then you condemn that falsehood of your own creation. Dishonesty in the extreme. Sad, sinful and frankly evil.

Exactly - YOU made up YOUR mind that YOU know what I believe and how I worship. No amount of debunking of the lies being told her affects that closed mind.

Oh, Dear me!

Are you telling me that RC’s involve their

MINDS in their RELIGION????

I thought it was a first requirement to turn their minds OFF whenever they approached within a 150 miles of anything having to do with their RELIGION.

What a shock it must be to try an apprehend such convoluted nonsense with a functioning mind.

"the Vatican is never wrong."

Perhaps you could explain how, paradoxically, the Vatican can possibly be wrong when it states, with a great deal of specificity, what it means and defines the terms it uses in the process.

Anybody who does not the difference between "What I understand de Montfort to say," and "What de Montfort says," is not fit to do theology.

De Montfort was not only a priest, but a tertiary Dominican, as am I - only, of course, I am in the Lay Branch of the Tertiaries. So I have an idea that de Montfort said Mass daily. Unless it was a votive mass of our Lady, in something which takes maybe 30 minutes at the least, our Lady is mentioned once or twice. All the prayers are directed to the Trinity or to one or another person of the Trinity.

He also prayed the daily "office". Again, except on special occasions, Mary is mentioned either not at all, or sparsely.

He probably prayed 5 decades of the Rosary daily. Here Mary gets more "literal" (a word misused a great deal) mention, but the vast majority of the 'mysteries' have little to do with her directly. Certainly in my meditation on them I rarely think of Mary.

So, sure. He was a Mariolater. Certainly somebody who doesn't love him and has read only excerpts would know him far better than somebody who does love him and has read two of his books.

Saint Louis is VERY different from me. I love his excitement and enthusiasm. I expect him to be over the top. I don't read him the way I read Aquinas. I certainly don't read him the way I read Calvin.

But you know best.

But listen: feel free to tell us what we believe. It's not uncommon, when humans meet something they don't understand, for them to take the aggression which arises out of their anxiety out on somebody else. We can handle it. And we'll feel free to know ourselves better than you all do.

Far be it from me to tell you what you believe. St. Louis de Montfort does it all.

” St. Louis de Montfort does it all. “

For those who worship him, maybe. For true Catholics, not so much. You really are having a hard time understanding a basic truth, Catholic’s believe the Dogmatic truthes taught by the Church. We have shared with you and the UFO cultists and other assorted apostates, heretics and random sinners the FACT that we Catholics worship the Triune God and NO ONE and NOTHING else.

That you persist in telling us, and others, LIES about what we believe and what we have told you again and again what we believe removes any chance of a benign or charitable explanation for your conduct. For the sake of your own soul, stop telling those lies. Beg Our Lord for forgiveness, He is a Merciful God, I will join my prayers with yours on your behalf.

I'm not sure
WHAT'S MORE
OUTRAGEOUSLY
HILARIOUS!
.
That someone would write
SUCH BRAZENLY FALSE ASSERTIONS
.
OR
.
That evidently most
RC'S HEREON
COULD BELIEVE
SUCH
UNMITIGATED
BRAZENLY
UNTRUE
BALDERDASH!
LOL!
.
I don't think
"willfully blind and deaf"
is a remotely adequate description
to describe such terminal lack of
awareness
on the part of such a huge
percentage of RC's hereon.

Evidently they HONESTLY BELIEVE that the Vatican publishes coherent, homogeneous, non-contradictory assertions of belief that make sense, are remotely logical etc. INCREDIBLE. Evidently the Vatican delcared mirrors anathema as well as Proddys.

Mirrors

( - D. Roeser - B. Abbott - )

A mirror is a negative space
With a frame and a place for your face
It reveals what the rest of us see
It conceals what you’d like it to be

Pretty girls can’t look away
Pretty girls can’t look away
Pretty girls can’t look away
Pretty girls can’t look away

Pretty girls have a love afair
With their eyes and their shining hair
Fantasize that the world adores
Tantalize like a cover girl

Mirrors are the basis of beauty
Give rise to self love or self pity
The prize if a woman is pretty
She tries like a superstar Hollywood girl

Pretty girls can’t look away
Pretty girls can’t look away
Pretty girls can’t look away
Pretty girls can’t look away

Vanity’s a deadly sin
It’s what the flesh is packaged in
Vanity’s a deadly sin
It’s what the flesh is packaged in

A mirror is a negative space
With a frame and a place for your face
It reveals what the rest of us see
It conceals what you’d like it to be

. . . that we [Roman] Catholics worship the Triune God and NO ONE and NOTHING else.

It's incredible that any aware human on the planet would expect any other informed, discerning, aware human on the planet to believe that brazenly and demonstrable false assertion.

As everyone knows, ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.

However, we see DEMONSTRATED HEREON WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT--BOTH words AND actions extremely contradictory to the above obviously false assertion.

Weasel words don't hide the truth.
DENIALS don't hide the truth.
Slippery magicsterical diplospeak doesn't hide the truth.
DAFFYNITIONS from the Vatican jello dictionary don't hide the truth.

THANKFULLY, GOD IS TRUTH. GOD IS INCREASINGLY REVEALING THE TRUTH. AND ALL THOSE WHO WISH TO LIVE ETERNALLY WITH HIM IN HIS LIGHT AND IN HIS TRUTH WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THE TRUTH. Others, won't.

At some point in the not distant future . . . folks must finally choose THE TRUTH--regardless of what THE TRUTH IS. Their eternal lives will depend on it.

NO RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION IS NOR HAS THE PURE, WHOLE TRUTH OF GOD. NONE.

I've discovered something interesting regarding the Catholic Church's teaching of Mary:

Latria-the highest form of adoration. The Church teaches the faithful to worship God alone in this manner.

Hyperdulia- Hyperdulia is one step below latria worship. It is the highest degree of veneration that can be given to a CREATED BEING. THE CHURCH TEACHES THAT MARY ALONE DESERVES THIS HONOR.

IOW, the reason Mary is 'venerated' and not 'worshipped' seems solely because she is a created being. Sooooo, they create a spot SOLELY for her and her alone.

Seems like the argument that "we don't worship Mary" is ONLY a matter of semantics.

Yep. Since the English translation does a poor job of translating hyper0-dulia as worship you get your panties in a wad. Read the Latin, understand the difference between veneration and worship and then get back to us.

That which we call a rose by any other name.....

Completely incomprehensible! When people make a reference to Orwell you should assume they are referring to his "Rules for Writers". Honestly, anyone who writes with such complete disregard for the rules of grammar, composition, and logic has no grounds to quibble with the Vatican over the meanings of its writing.

That being said, it was anticipatable that a definitive question would be met with the HTML equivalent of a cephalopod's ink cloud. I do, however, understand your reluctance to admit ignorance.
