Weather Clears for a US Strike on Iran

War drums are beating in the Middle East. In a short time, the United States has increased the number of its carrier strike groups opposite Iran to three, and reports are raining down of a tightening ring of American and Israeli concentrations all around the Islamic Republic. On the diplomatic front, the Israelis are unusually concerned about their international image (for example, making concessions in Gaza) while their top officials - including Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself - are shuttling between Jerusalem and Washington.
Everybody in the region is restless. Turkey is making spectacular diplomatic pirouettes. Egypt is quietly seething, and Saudi Arabia less quietly so. Jordan's king had ruefully predicted war if no peace was achieved by the summer [1], and summer has now come. Syria and Lebanon are positioning themselves to weather the coming storm [2]. Yemen is in disarray. Russia, China, India, and a host of other powers are vying to make the best of the fracas. The Iranian regime itself appears to be digging in for a fight.

I guess there’s no worries about that failed old cliche, “loose lips sink ships” anymore.

Hell, I wouldn’t doubt that Obastard’s reason for putting three carrier groups in the Gulf was to defend Iran against an attack from Israel.

Are sure that Obastard isn’t sending US carriers to DEFEND Iran against an Israeli attack?
Another question, would our pilots shoot down Israeli aircraft on the orders of a president who does not have US interests in mind?

After all, none of them have standing to find out if he is Constitutionally qualified to hold the job.
And "I vas yust followink orders" is a perfectly valid defense in a war crime trial...

Where was he speaking when that speech was made? I doubt the authenticity.

I have to agree. The first time I saw it, I completely dismissed it. I want to know where he was speaking and see the original tape.

I read this yesterday. I sort of looked around and the guy who supposedly gave this information,Victor Ostrovsky (former Mossad)has spoken out against Israel in the past.
See for yourself. Maybe it was posted here already. What do you think? It reminds me of one of those Bush rumors.
Obama sacrifices Israel for Bin Laden and Cheap Oil.

" Dual subject article with a quite likely scenario of the near future and Obama trying to save himself and his administration "
The idiot liberal/Marxist that he is and most Liberals are mistaken if this is going to help them in this fall's election.
Bush SR and GW Bush didn't do this for support or to boast their poll numbers, the liberals look at it as a way where war is only good when you can use it ( never let a crises go to waste ).
The war in the middle east is going to get out of hand really fast, and get ready for $ 7.00-8.00 gas on top of a double recession ( really a depression ) and high unemployment.....

$ 7.00 - 8.00 a gallon gas is not going to help him much on top of high unemployment, and a double recession ( really a depression.)
Things could go horribly wrong really fast in the middle east in this up coming war.

A long Congressionally declared war increases employment as the economy is taken over by the government and focused entirely on the prosecution of the war. Last time we did this was WWII. It is highly unlikely that we will do it again.
This will not be a long war.

When the Middle East War “gets out of hand (to say the least to the chaos and bloodshed whih will follow in reprisals) and the looming depression (financial as well as emotional) kicks in with full force, Obama will blame Bush for getting us into this pickle (truth does not matter to him), then dump on Republicans to try to continue to avoid any responsibility and potentially cause tens of thousand civilian American deaths as street clashes, not just in the USA occur.
The cost of gas or diesel fuel may not stop at $8 as the devaluation or crash of the dollar (Depression or disconnection of oil purchase only in dollars as is the rule today) may make this rise far beyond this estimate in real dollars. EAch gallon could conservatively cost us $20 or more
