War drums are beating in the Middle East. In a short time, the United States has increased the number of its carrier strike groups opposite Iran to three, and reports are raining down of a tightening ring of American and Israeli concentrations all around the Islamic Republic. On the diplomatic front, the Israelis are unusually concerned about their international image (for example, making concessions in Gaza) while their top officials - including Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself - are shuttling between Jerusalem and Washington.
Everybody in the region is restless. Turkey is making spectacular diplomatic pirouettes. Egypt is quietly seething, and Saudi Arabia less quietly so. Jordan's king had ruefully predicted war if no peace was achieved by the summer [1], and summer has now come. Syria and Lebanon are positioning themselves to weather the coming storm [2]. Yemen is in disarray. Russia, China, India, and a host of other powers are vying to make the best of the fracas. The Iranian regime itself appears to be digging in for a fight.

Methinks that Iran's threat to send gunboats to protect the blockade crashers, and probably some things we don't know about is what set this in motion.
Iran has since backed off, but who believes them.

a war against Iran will substantially deflate the anti Obama forces and be an effective runup to the midterm elections for Democrats.
This is why we need to get this out there NOW. Keep circulating stories that Obama will attack Iran PURELY for political reasons. We should even play to the anti war wackoos. Their boy Obama would kill and maim thousands just to win an election.

Let's not go crazy here. Obama's potential strike against Iran will be received about as well as Clinton's 40-odd day air war against Serbia. Comparisons to WW2 are likely to be overdrawn if only because the Democrat-base does not believe that war is a legitimate tool of statecraft.

I agree, however, today many Americans would not have the fortitude to endure a WWII over the long-haul. Look at the backlash against Afghanistan less than 10 years after 9/11.
Therefore, Obama only need enough of a distraction to get through the mid-term election without losing too many seats (which the media will portray as a victory for Obama's policies). Yes, the Dems might lose 40 seats in the House and the media will say it should have been more, so it is a sign that Obama, and his policies, are loved.

Obama is absolutely not going to initiate a single pre-emptive military action on Iran dispite all of these coincidences of world leaders and officials jetting around all over the place pulling their hair out about the problem...

What are we to think of the video. First off, is it real. It looks like it could be a sophisticated chop-job. When he says the key phrase “I’m not an American citizen, I was born in Kenya”... he is facing away from the camera. So you don’t see him saying it.. You hear it. At the same time the phrase itself sounds choppy to me, like it may have been pieced together from other phrases.
If so, why would someone do such a thing. Most “birthers” are interested in the truth, in getting the facts. Perhaps a lefty created this as a false narrative, so that they could later discredit it, showing that the birther stuff is all nonsense. Or, perhaps some fanatic birther has just lost it, and gone rogue. Or, perhaps it *is* real.
Regardless, it is odd that it only surfaces here, mixed in with all the other old films. If it’s real, and it is just now coming to light it should be trimmed down to just the clip. And, ideally it would be good to hear something like 2 minutes leading up the remarks, and a minute afterwords: the remarks in context. Along with anntation or voice over explaining the date and location of the event.
Lacking all this I’m very sceptical and suspect that the tape is bullshit.
