I think you’re better than that, Bro.
I believe you have known Roman Catholics et al who were/ maybe are
over the line into worship of Mary.
I believe you have written things to me to that effect, before.
I’m not saying everyone is over that line. Some are.
They are the ones I’m addressing.
“Luke 1:39 / 2 Sam. 6:2 - Luke's conspicuous comparison's between Mary and the Ark described by Samuel underscores the reality of Mary as the undefiled and immaculate Ark of the New Covenant. In these verses, Mary (the Ark) arose and went / David arose and went to the Ark. There is a clear parallel between the Ark of the Old and the Ark of the New Covenant.”
Luke 1:39 says, “And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;”
2 Sam. 6:2 says, “And David arose, and went with all the people that [were] with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth [between] the cherubims.”
“Luke's conspicuous comparison's...” Luke says nothing about any ark nor does he make any comparisons of anything to another, nor does he speak of Mary as an ark in this verse. No need to treat what else is offered up as...I don't know what to call it.
lIKELY SO.
Main Entry: wor·ship
1 chiefly British : a person of importance used as a title for various officials (as magistrates and some mayors)
2 : reverence offered a divine being or supernatural power; also : an act of expressing such reverence
3 : a form of religious practice with its creed and ritual
4 : extravagant respect or admiration for or devotion to an object of esteem *worship of the dollar*

Catholics pray to Mary, asking her to grant answers to their requests. They, by their own admission, love and revere her, all activities which should be solely directed towards God.
They defend her with as much fervor, if not more, than they defend Christ. More from what I’ve seen, because when other religions teach error about who Jesus is, they don’t get as bent out of shape as they do when someone tries to point out accurate Biblical teaching about Mary.
Roman Catholics can deny it all they want, but in essence, the worship Mary.
If they’re going to get anywhere convincing the world that they don’t, then they’re going to have to do away with the prayers to Mary, the statues of her, and the irrational, unfounded, unScriptural teachings about her.
When they have to make things up about her to defend, or rather excuse, their attitude towards her, they are, in essence, worshiping her.
Main Entry: wor·ship
1 : to honor or reverence as a divine being or supernatural power
2 : to regard with great or extravagant respect, honor, or devotion *a celebrity worshipped by her fans*
INDEED.
HOWEVER, we know that the Vatican edifice prefers to operate with it’s own RUBBER DICTIONARY . . . at least according to the rabid clique types within it.
That's simply not true from my perspective, heart, mind, intentions, goals.
This is why the Catholic Church doesn’t want Catholics to read the Word for themselves, because then they’d see the unadulterated hogwash their teachings about Mary are.
I looked up those references as well and the only connection between the two situations that I could find was the time period of three months.
Mary left after three months simply because, if you do the math, Elizabeth was due to deliver at any time.
That does NOT make Mary a type of the ark.
And even IF it did, it does not support any contention that she was conceived without sin.
It isn’t about thought, because if the Catholics actually thought through what they are taught instead of blindly swallowing what their church tells them to believe hook, line, and sinker, they would see the error in the RCC teachings.
If only Catholics would display the same level of devotion to Christ as they display to Mary....
Seriously? I can’t get past Mary dispensing all grace.
Reminds me of the silly childhood song: Oh ya can’t get to heaven......
Size 13 doctrine, size 8 Scriptures. No amount of forcing makes it fit.
Far tooooo true, imho.
THX.
INDEED.
THAT WOULD BE WONDERFUL.
Yeah. That one stuck in my craw heavily, too.
INDEED.
Though I’d put it this way.
Size 0.0000006 doctrine
Size 12 Scriptural shoes.
For example: I take as a premise the false one that my across the street neighbor has three heads. From this I argue that if he has only two hats, his head will get wet on a rainy day.
The logic is good, but the premise and the conclusion are bad.
Yet they refuse to READ for themselves because they’ve been indoctrinated that they aren’t CAPABLE.
Is this RC doctrine or does it come under “your own personal interpretation”? hmmmmm
If I say "Are you thinking ...?" that is not making it personal. If I say "You think ..." that is making it personal.
