I don't know what to make of the following from stfassisi:

“Luke 1:39 / 2 Sam. 6:2 - Luke's conspicuous comparison's between Mary and the Ark described by Samuel underscores the reality of Mary as the undefiled and immaculate Ark of the New Covenant. In these verses, Mary (the Ark) arose and went / David arose and went to the Ark. There is a clear parallel between the Ark of the Old and the Ark of the New Covenant.”

Luke 1:39 says, “And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;”

2 Sam. 6:2 says, “And David arose, and went with all the people that [were] with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth [between] the cherubims.”

“Luke's conspicuous comparison's...” Luke says nothing about any ark nor does he make any comparisons of anything to another, nor does he speak of Mary as an ark in this verse. No need to treat what else is offered up as...I don't know what to call it.

This is why the Catholic Church doesn’t want Catholics to read the Word for themselves, because then they’d see the unadulterated hogwash their teachings about Mary are.

I looked up those references as well and the only connection between the two situations that I could find was the time period of three months.

Mary left after three months simply because, if you do the math, Elizabeth was due to deliver at any time.

That does NOT make Mary a type of the ark.

And even IF it did, it does not support any contention that she was conceived without sin.

Luke says nothing about any ark nor does he make any comparisons of anything to another, nor does he speak of Mary as an ark in this verse.

Scripture never uses the word Trinity either, yet you (I assume) believe God is Triune-The Church Fathers make the Trinity clearer than Scripture does
