There a literally tens-of-thousands of devout-Christians, many of whom are unabashed conservatives, that spend hundreds of millions of dollars, and countless hours helping the helpless in places EXACTLY like Haiti - to include Haiti. But, none of their good work will be highlighted in tonight’s evening news broadcasts. But, Pat Robertson unbelievable stupid gibberish will be. Thanks Pat.

He said, essentially, that as we turn away from God, we lose God’s blessing and protection.
That was one of the comments he’s made that I had no problem with. If 9/11 didn’t prove that to be true, Obama’s rise certainly should have.
Much more objectionable were his comments about forced abortion in China. Pat didn’t have a problem with it because China is overpopulated.

Haiti’s religion is Voodoo which is considered to be a form of Satanism.

Now there's a good Christian response. sarc

No one can doubt that Christianity had something to do with the blessings of THIS COUNTRY. Nor can one doubt the lack of blessing to OTHER COUNTRIES like the plight of 22 Arab nations, comprising some 300 million people.
The Arab countries scored the lowest of all world regions as to freedom, the political process, civil liberties, political rights and media independence. Other findings:
There are 65 million illiterate adults in the Arab world, with half of Arab women unable to read or write.
There is a severe shortage of new writing: in the last 1,000 years Arabs have translated as many books as Spain translates in just one year.
Spain, a country of 41 million people boasts a greater gross domestic product (GDP) than the GDE of all the 22 Arab countries combined.
Moreover, despite the presence of oil in many Arab countries, the region remains underdeveloped — per capita income growth is just above that of sub-Saharan Africa over the past two decades.

Hes asking for prayers and donations for the people, right?
Tonight at our church we're having a canned goods/blood drive and a prayer service for the Haitians. I assure you no one is going to try to explain Haiti's plight with voodoo/Satanism.

“So, he believes God is vengeful and acts against mankind (the good, the bad and the ugly) using forces of nature.”
Parts of the New Testament and the Book Of Revelation say this is so too.

We are all condemned because of sin. Our only escape is through Jesus Christ. Natural disasters and evil are an effect of sin upon this world. It is not from the judgement of God because of a pact with the devil.
It saddens me to see people like Pat Robertson speak out about these kind of things. How are we to offer comfort to the hurting when they believe God has wiped out their families?
He speaks in direct conflict with what the Bible says in
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
To: BJClinton
I watched the video and do not agree with some of the hateful comments here against Pat Robertson. To begin with, can anyone on this forum support or dismiss the historical facts he has asserted? If his facts are correct, then his belief as to God using nature to cleanse Haiti may be extreme, but it is simply a belief based on history and biblical knowledge.
As to the reason to make this comment at this time, even if he believes it to be true, is beyond my comprehension. If you listen to the entire clip, though, he calls on Americans to help the Haitians and to not dwell on the reason for God allowing such a catastrophe to occur.
I am not in anyway supporting his conclusion, just making a point that maybe his belief is based on historic fact.

True, but he gets some things right. I wish wed have taken PRs advice about Hugo Chavez ...
I think that falls into the "a stopped clock is right twice a day" category.
Even if some Haitians swore what they believed was a pact with the devil to oust the French, is Pat saying he's familiar with infernal jurisprudence to a degree that he can know that all future generations of Haitians, including those who are not descendants of the "let's make a deal with the devil" folks, are "cursed"? Cursed by whom? By God? If so, he's basically saying that God is a moron and an A-hole. The alternative, though, is that Pat is the moron and A-hole. Considering that Jesus said the Father in heaven makes the sun to shine and the rain to fall on both the just and the unjust, the latter is the more likely conclusion.

So even the little children who got slowly crushed under the debris must have made a pact with the devil.....Actually, innocents have suffered from the sins of others ever since there was sin.
But a "soothsayer" sure wouldn't know that.

His position has nothing to do with the number of Christians in Haiti; it appears throughout the Bible that God has rendered judgment on a people even though that people had believers among them. Again, as stated before, the timing of his belief statement was unnecessary.
